Yaya Toure not that great because he's African.

I don't know a single person who doesn't regard Yaya as one of the best midfielders in the world. Don't see the issue myself.

The same could be said of several other players who if they weren't playing at the same time as Messi and Ronaldo might have more recognition. Fact is we've got two of the best players of the last forty years playing at the moment.
Being African didn't stop George Weah winning the Balon d'Or.

He's a good player but he needs to collect a few medals like Messi and Ronaldo have done before he can be considered at that level.
He's a cracking player and while I understand where' he's coming from, them's the breaks. However, picking Messi, Ronaldo, Xavi and Iniesta for your moan probably isn't the wisest choice - medals galore, goals aplenty & even similar or better annual stipend (and that's saying something given he will be in the top 3 earners at City).Or even do it for an extended period (and/or in a position of adversity). A decent couple of years at Barca and a couple of good years at City do not make a great player. Doesn't even compare to someone like Gerrard (regardless of colour, creed or birthplace) since he's spent a large part of his career often dragging some total pony to places it should never have been. Toure's been good for 3 years or so in teams where he damn well should have been good.
