The Official 2010/11 Premier League Predictathon Thread!!!
Discussion
As per last years thread, and the more recent World Cup thread, this is the new "Offical 2010/11 Premier League Seasons Predictathon Thread".
I've Happily voulunteered to look after the table and things for the first 5 or 6 weeks.
Format as per usual - scoring the same as last year - awarded 3 points for a correct score prediction, 1 point for a correct result prediction (slightly different to the world cup)
If its OK with everyone else - can we ask for weekly sets of predictions?
EG: Predictions in by Midnight (GMT) on the Friday night for the following 7 days - probably makes things easier than having to do mid week predictions etc. Anything recieved after this isn't counted.
For the weeks i'm looking after things i'll get the table updated once a week at least - although due to shift work I can't guarentee what day this will be.
If you're reading this after the start of the season I have no problems with people joining late - you'll just have to catch up!
Good Luck Everyone!!
First week of predictions runs from Saturday 14th of August, up to Friday the 20th of August and includes the following matches.
Sat 14th:
Tottenham v Man City
Aston Villa v West Ham
Blackburn v Everton
Bolton v Fulham
Sunderland v Birmingham
Wigan v Blackpool
Wolverhampton v Stoke
Chelsea v West Brom
Sun 15th:
Liverpool V Arsenal
Mon 16th:
Manchester United V Newcastle United
There are no midweek fixtures.

Did anyone do very well? I got a couple of correct results I think, but really need Man Utd to win 3-0 tonight. 1st table on Tuesday morning??
It wasn't the highest of scoring weekends - lets put it like that! I'm just putting the table together so I should get a final one for this week up either after the game tonight or first thing tomorrow as i'm off work at the moment.
Gents - week one - over and done with.
I wish I could claim to have had a roaring start to the season........ ah well.
Looks like TJK is carrying on from where he left off last year. 4 correct results and 3 spot on scores!
Lets not dwell on the first week though eh? Otherwise Blackpool would be getting carried away.
Matches for next week are as follows - same format - all predictions in by midnight Friday.
Saturday, 21 August 2010
Arsenal v Blackpool
Birmingham v Blackburn
Everton v Wolverhampton
Stoke v Tottenham
West Brom v Sunderland
West Ham v Bolton
Wigan v Chelsea
Sunday, 22 August 2010
Newcastle v Aston Villa
Fulham v Man Utd
Monday 23 August 2010
Manchester City v Liverpool

Top of the league!!!
Can I just check on the scoring (perhaps I got it wrong last year)
You get 1pt for a correct result
Your get an extra 3 points for a Correct score? (4pts in total?)
Just checking as last year I thought it worked this way, but I might have not taken any notice

Ah could be a mistake on my part then - I've scored it as one point for a correct score and three points total for a correct result. Can I just check on the scoring (perhaps I got it wrong last year)

Happy to change things - how do people want it scoring?

Now..... how do I become JK?????
All I know is that the main aim of this game is to beat Lawro. I'd like to start giving out some abuse but given this is only week 1, then I shall refrain and see what happens.
Did anyone even get the Blackpool result never mind the correct score?

Evening Gentleman.
Not only do Citeh tonk us three nil but I have to sit so close to the bottom of the table its not funny...... now if only I was looking after the scoring..... hmmmm...
Latest table folks...
True to form TJK stays top.... however special mention to OxfordDrinker - who shoots into 8th with only one weeks of predictions under his belt. Note to Pete - maybe you should feed his results into the machine?

Dan.... sorry to be picky, but I think you have also missed an extra 3 points from me. I only got 3 correct results (Ars, Chelsea and Spurs), but I got the Spurs correct score which means I am missing 3 points.... can you adjust please?
Thanks
T-J-K
I blame my "predictions results spreadsheet v4.0145" for not totalling up a couple of scores correctly! Thanks
T-J-K
Now adjusted and table amended above.
