I love that typeface. It was the typeface of the future - back in 1970.

I'd never heard of this phrase before seeing this thread, now I will ensure to use it as often as possible.

I think it's a splendid phrase and entirely fit for purpose.

I first heard it when Brian Cox was being interviewed on the Chris Evans show. He asked him a question that someone had sent in about astrology, the reply was "It's just woo-woo" and he refused to engage any further, the perfect response I thought.

As with all such matters it's up to the supporters to provide convincing evidence whereas all they seem to want to do is talk about it (a lot) and conclude that "just shows there's things we don't understand properly" - leaving a satisfying mystical gap to fill in with stuff you can imagine.

One reason why I won't listen to Steve Wright in the Afternoon is because he has a regular astrology slot (as well as the fact that I don't like Steve Wright much).

I usually change station at this point otherwise I just end up shouting at the radio. I don't think Steve Wright takes it too seriously and it's probably the doing of the producers. I can tolerate Steve Wright, Jeremy Vine on the other hand.. furious

And I noted that people phoned in and related their dreams, Mr. 'Dream Analyst' made up some st analysed it, and they moved on - no opportunity for the caller to remark just what a load of inapplicable buttocks the 'analysis' was.

When they did the questions from the crowd later in those vids, the question from the big guy in the red t-shirt was priceless. It was a while since I saw them but didn't he say that he was working on a book with Steven Hawking, and basically told Deepfried Porkchop to stop using the word 'quantum'.

Well done, you spotted Leonard Mlodinow! You get a prize, which has yet to be decided.

Anyway, I ink that video, more than any I have every seen, explains without question, the issue of woo, especially the Houston lady. I don't even think Chopra had the foggiest idea what she was talking about. I'm not even sure she answered a question to be honest.

That's him, it's been a while since I saw it.

I think I've watched nearly every debate with Sam Harris, and he is usually the epitome of calm and rational. Even he started to show signs of 'WTF' frustration and a slightly raised voice in his exchanges later on.

The one with Lane-Craig is good. You can see him giving that sort of raised eyebrow on certain points.
