UFO does not mean aliens. As long as it sticks to UFOs that are supportable be reasonable evidence then I have no problem with it being here; unlikely I grant you. F117 and B2 were UFOs not so long ago biggrin

Being an astronaut does not preclude one from being crackers.

He was on some of the major networks a few years back talking about disclosure.

This is actually the "science!" forum.

Perhaps we need a proper "science" forum.

Woo-woo (or just plain woo) refers to ideas considered irrational or based on extremely flimsy evidence or that appeal to mysterious occult forces or powers.

It basically means the meaningless waffle used by pseudo science types to explain how things work, and the ilk.

Solar, of you genuinely want to see woo in REAL action, check YouTube for a debate by 'Shermer, Harris, Chopra, and Houston'... Most woo filled debate ever.

It's a fair point. It's also relevant for other woo such as the Loch Ness Monster, poltergeists, bigfoot and ghosts (to an extent).

Mods, please stop crap like this diluting an otherwise interesting area.
Dear Nelly Le Elephant,
Sorry if I offended you Nelly, that was not at all my intention at all. What happened was that I searched for latest UFO information one day and then your tread popped up, as after all this is the world open net, not a closed circuit. Besides the motor enthusiasts I know in Norway are really cool and open minded when it comes to UFO matters. People who like a good UFO story over a glass of beer so thought I’d join and give my take on what I know. Now I don’t claim to know everything about UFO’s. But I know some related to the case I briefly mentioned, because I was a member of that group for several years. It also taught me how intelligence organizations are working in the field of UFO. The statements I made are true and rather basic knowledge and I am surprised you did not see it as such. But never mind I did not come her to offend you or others and to pick a fight so I will lay low and just monitor your discussion.

I don't think anyone minds 'a good UFO story over a glass of beer', but this sub-forum was set up for science topics - If the mods want to move this thread to the lounge, then it can get the level of discussion it deserves.

Such as - Why did Billy Meier take 1476 photos over twenty-three years, all using the same setting on his Olympus -35 camera (focal length 1:28 / f 42mm. sic)? Only having one arm would not have helped I guess

I feel these topics /are/ science; it's just that the science is /psychology/.

Exactly. I still read books on woo because I find the psychology behind those who experience and advocate it fascinating. When you look at the literature you see distinct traits and patterns across all aspects of woo, it's very interesting stuff.
