Chandrayaan-3 - Indian Moon shot
Discussion
They're only interested in failure.
Both vehicles were OK until the lunar night fell, bringing temperatures down to around -140c. The little rover had been trundling around for 10 days or so before that.
If I recall correctly, the Moon has about two weeks of sunlight, followed by two weeks of darkness. At least around the equator. The indian lander is quite far south though, down near the pole, so I expect the darkness may last longer.
The lander was put to sleep with a full battery and only the basics running. So all may not be lost yet.
The Vikram lander taken from the Pragyan rover.
BTW, the orbiting Chandrayaan-2 took this picture of the Apollo 11 Eagle lander (or the base section really).
Are they trails in the dust you can see?
They also took one of Apollo 12 too. Take that doubters.
