They should send one of those things to Burma; maybe it can find the buried Spitfires!

Apparently they've found something but aren't saying yet until the tests confirm whatever 'it' is.

Any update on when they may release more? Any timescales being bandied about?
They have done this before and the world waited with baited breath only to find out something that excited scientists but the rest of the world sort of went EH?

Next meeting says the Martian gallopers web site is Dec 3rd.

Link Looks like another damp squib from someone getting excited.

NASA have released a great self portrait of the rover made by stitching together pics from the hand lens imager.

Bound to get the conspiracy theorists going i.e. how could it take a picture of all of itself?
This week's report sort of explains how they did it -

It was all a "misunderstanding"
Cue the conspiracy theorists ( who previously said it was all being filmed in Colorado ) to now say it found something and it's being covered up by the CIA

When does the Lord Lucan joke run out? Out of living memory I suppose. With regards the CT aspect, it is amazing what moving a slider can do, that slider then turns you into an expert.

They won't find anything interesting as Mars is a dead lump of rock.

I wish we would stop messing around and send astronauts to start colonisation.

Tax everyone in the world £1 a month to pay for it.

Unfortunately we're already paying far more than that to have our own country 'colonised'.

Gosh - you seem to have better inside knowledge than the entire planetary science community.

If only NASA and ESA had spoken to you first.

Ah yes but once you have astronauts there, they can pick up more lumps of rock and faster. Win win you see!

No doubt 'I Spy' will be a popular game... 'R? Dang...'

Agree.

But you have to go with what's possible sometimes rather than what's desirable.

I would love a team of rock kickers wandering or driving aroumnd the Martian surface. But I now don't think it's going to happen for at least 20-30 years.

Serious undertaking with much money and testing before hand and that seems lacking. On the scale of things, the budget for space exploration is still very small as I understand it. The military comparison is mind boggling.
