Astra wont start ?
Discussion
Well, RAC couldnt start it, it arrives back on a low loader and sure enough, dead as a doornail.
Not sure what we did but it started,
Battery off for 5 mins.
Tried the spare key
Removed the ECU connectors and re-seated
Starts on the next turn of the key,
Had got my eldest to try the battery thing, but maybe leaving it off helped.
Reseating things often helps in computers so I thought why not.
No stored codes to go on.
Now starts on both keys ?
He is away until Friday so will go and try it, take it round the block and just see if it re-occurs.

Hopefully you'll have got to the root of the problem. We had a lot of issues with alternators on the Astra H's that we had as fleet cars at work. When the cars were a couple of years old and approaching 100,000 miles they all started to suffer alternator failure which manifested at first as the electrical systems going haywire, PAS assistance dropping out, brake servo assistance stopping and loads of flashing lights on the dash. Odds are, that would be the last time the car would start before they were towed away to be fixed.
