Any CPC Trainers?

I'm a class 2 driver, but I haven't been on the road for 8 years, I left to go and play with plant, but I'm working through my redundancy notice at the mo and I'll be heading back out in the road in February sometime.

The CPC was still being talked about when I changed jobs, and for me, only came into effect 13 months ago because I had Acquired Rights. According to DVSA I just need to do 35 hours of training. Rather than sit through 5 days of Drivers Hours I thought about doing my ADR Packages and Tanks. ADR counts for 28 hours, do Drivers hours and Tachograph to brush up and I'm done. Easy.

I've just read a website for a training company offering ADR, and it says I need to have sat Module 4 of the DCPC in order for the ADR to count towards my CPC. This is because I passed my car test after Jan 1997 (not sure what the car test has to do with DCPC....)

According to DVSA, in order to do Mod 4, I need to Mod 2: Case Studies. Here's the kicker, if I sit Mod 2 and then Mod 4, I get my DCPC anyway, so I wouldn't need the ADR credits.

Before I phone the training company, ask WTF? and then look a fool, does anyone know anything about this?

The DVSA make no mention of needing to do Mod4 for my DCPC because I passed my car test after Jan 1997. I passed my HGV2 in Nov 2003.

The ADR can be, as long as the training provider has had their ADR course approved for DCPC which is another total joke. The ADR Course follows as set syllabus, either it can or cant be used for DCPC. Its just another way of taking money from training providers who in turn have to take more money from Drivers/Operators.

This is exactly my understanding.

My confusion came from this particular companies website, who have said that anyone who passed their car test after 1997, needs to do MOD4.
This turns out to be true, but only if you are doing a DCPC Initial when doing your Driving Licence.
