The advantage of reading a full newspaper (or indeed watching the whole of the television news not just the headlines) is that you might discover a story that you wouldn't have read just by scanning the online clickbait headlines (or distracted by a picture of a minor celeb in a state of undress).

Similar to how as a kid I had to sit through John Craven's NewsRound awaiting for the Flintstones or Neighbours to start, and got to learn about the world and current affairs by osmosis.
I haven’t read newspapers for donkey’s years, but there was a time when I read The Times every day. I used to open a page and start with the shortest story, progressively working my way up to the longer ones until they started to get boring.

Then one day it dawned on me that probably half of what I was reading was untrue and the other half I could do nothing about, so why exercise myself over it. I do, though, keep abreast of the major issues through the BBC news website.

Your think half the stories in the Times are made up? What organ of truth did you read to arrive at that conclusion?

But you said 'untrue' , which is not the same as 'misreported '. So where do you get your accurate reporting from ?
