Superb post. Thanks for taking the time to give us all a great read.

Now, then. You mentioned bringing it back to the UK for future work. Can we have dates and times for the orderly queue?

That would be the queue where I am 1st

Oh yes!

I am printing this page off and plan to read it on the bog either at some point this evening or tomorrow morning.

Cheers.

A curry and a few pints of Guinness would be good - I's quite a substantial read afterall!

What a superb post. It's just taken me 10 minutes to read it so I hate to think how long it took to write.

I'm intrigued by the "literally undriveable unless you now how" comment, but I guess I will have to wait until I own one to find out

Wonder if you have an owners club ? (With meets down the local pub type thing)

Nah, didn't think so.....

Congratulations on owning such a wonderful car and sharing that experience with us.

That's got to be one the all time great PH posts.

Thanks for going to the trouble of 'the vetting procedure' to bring us a superb and credible post on a subject close to the heart of many a PHer.

I should think that the owners' club (or is it owner's club) meet in a telephone kiosk somewhere.

Hi and congratulations on owning such a beautiful car.

Thank you Flemke for taking the time for such a fantastic post

If anyone is interested, and if Flemke is happy, I'm fairly sure I can give links to photos and even a video of his car.

Top post, reading it slowly gives a sense of what it must be like with such a surreal vehicle.

Newer supercars may go round most tracks faster and maybe that keoeoenisessggssggsegss czzcrrrzrabc123 thingy may manage a higher top speed (with forced induction - wot a cheat), but the Macca F1 will always be the one to stand out in the history books maybe down to the timing or just the sheer purity of design.

The idea of ringing up base and saying "My car needs a service, can you put a mechanic on a plane please" is just unreal!!

Thanks for sharing your experience with a car that so few of us are ever likely to own, however much we might like to!

You mention having taken the trouble to learn more about driving such cars before taking delivery. May I ask what you used to drive - one would assume you had some previous experience of fast cars! Was the difference so great that you needed extra instruction, presumably beyond what Maclaren would give you on taking delivery?

I'd have to imagine buying something rather more expensive than most cars would be reason enough to take time to learn a bit more. Also, I think the relative ease the car puts on speed and the high speeds you can and obviously will want to experience are another good reason.

Sounds like a very smart man to me. Unlike the footballers we hear of every other week stuffing their motors and wasting the work of many a hard working employee at Maranello Just having the money does not qualify you to drive something fast, er........fast.

Only 187mph for me so what do I know about it
