b) those like me who drive an auto (when not driving the 450!) and are just stupid and forget that it takes as much effort to put the car in neutral/park and then use the handbrake as it does for those a) drivers to put in neutral and apply the handbrake!!
I can't believe I've just slagged myself off for that
in your (and my) defence it has to be said that all autos have a lag of 1-2 seconds before they supply power. I tend to stay on the footbrake if I'm in front so as to get away quicker.

Sounds like a poor excuse to me as it takes a second or so for the lights to get from amber to green anyway.. faster reaction time training required perhaps
Give some thought to the poor guy behind you who's getting a migraine (if it's me that is )
Cheers

I sympathise, especially if they have 3rd brake light, BUT in my (crappy) auto
depress foot brake, 1-2-3, press release button, 1, engage gear lever, 1-2-3, press loud pedal. Takes all in all 4-5 secs., and if you rush the gear lever, it locks up completely.

Surely the only use of factory fit fogs (front) is to differentiate the standard model from the executive or super version.
I can't remember the last car I've had (apart from a Caterham) that hasn't had them, similarly I can't remember the last time I've used them. They do fill the hole in the spoiler though and look quite nice before they are smashed by road debris. Replacement units must be a nice little earner for Motor Factors.
