I wonder where the line between car dealer and petrolhead is....

hhmm...

to be able to afford a 100k car you've got to have a business brain... if you can sell something make a profit then buy the same thing again... thats fantastic!

Erm, not always...Being good at something helps though.

But at this moment in time he doesn't have a GT does he? There are more important things than money sometimes. THAT's the test of a petrolhead.

That's a bit narrow minded...

With the money made on this deal GT2-man could have another identical Ford GT in a few months, as well as a Radical/M3/Caterham/insert petrolhead car of choice here.

Who is more the petrolheaded in this case?

Fair point. But what if he's offered another good sale with the next one? What will he do? What if the list you give offer no profit or just big losses? It'll be the test then I guess.

Nice car (although I find it a little large for our roads). I've nothing at all against the buying and selling of cars. It's just, as others have said, I find the thread misleading.

I was in the pub last night and I was talking about cars to a couple of fellas (one was a car salesman and he said to me, "You really do know your cars don't you! I don't know any of those you've just mentioned." LOL!

Anyway, back on track. His mate pipped up, "And what about that stupid car that Jeremy Clarkson has just bought? The Ford GT. Stupid bloody car! Give me a DB9 anyday." I said, "Actually, given the choice, I'd go for a Ford GT." Real conversation stopper that was

I've seen a yellow GT40 in the flesh and am very tempted to buy it

Okay, okay so it's a Nikko 1:16 scale model with full functional radio control

But I think I'll pass, I prefer them in red!

David, you really are a joyless c0ck aren't you?

I am now really bored with all the cars you have 'owned'. I am waiting for you to put 5k miles on one before I will take your opinions seriously.

I cannot believe that you seriously expect us to believe that the GT was not sold before it even reached our shores. We all know that you are scared of your cars so why not just admit that you are a trader who would be happier in a Ford Focus?

Not to worry. I'm sure I'll get to snap one at Goodwood next year

Didn't realise what I'd stepped into. I'll get my coat "Siya!"

I had my last service at Roush in Brentwood when they were playing with the demo one, so I had a good poke around it. The flexable rubber splitter at the front was a nice idea. It looks massive up against the Noble (which is admittedly quite small). Didn't look at the quality of the painted stripes (which I'll do if it's there next time).

I would have sold the car too. However, I would not have claimed to have 'owned' it all over the internet to make myself look like The Man
