We have a local, (private), car park the owners of which will send you a bill for £85 just for driving into it - no need to park. That rises to £170 if not paid within 2 weeks. So don't get lost or try to turn around in Shenfield.

Any bill they sent me (for not parking) would be filed in the bin..

How does this work? An owner of private land is able to charge anything he likes to anyone who happens to put a foot or tyre down on his involable property?
If I had a bit of land in Britain along a busy road, could I pave it over, put up a sign saying "No trespassing - violaters will be fined", or whatever, and then if someone simply drove upon it for five seconds I could collect a million pounds off them?

I'm currently in a bit of a battle for much the same money although I was parked.

Unauthorised parking apparently.

Though I was parked in a mates space with his permission, visiting him.

They are shysters, every one of them.

You are a star, xxplod! It's great to hear a tale of these profiteering bastards getting nailed. How about getting Health and Safety in to check the fitness of their clamping equipment to be left in a Public place untended and their Public Liability insurance cover. Are their hi-viz jackets in good, clean condition and of the right BS etc...?

I would make sure that none of them knew whether they wanted a sh*t, a shave or a haircut...

Keep up the good work!
