My Ford GT has arrived
Discussion
Cut the man some slack. When I imported my Z06 it was very tempting to sell it at UK prices and go back for a newer one but I couldn't be arsed moving the personal plate and doing it again and I had exactly what I wanted anyway. But if I needed to, I would. It's nothing to do with being a petrolhead as long as you end up having what you want and especially with a Ford GT, the profit will look after servicing and tyres for a few years. It's a free car at the end of the day and there isn't a single person here IF they had the money who wouldn't do the same.

Ok, so "my Ford GT has arrived" on Friday, and it continues to be that way until FourWheelDrift pointed out that Tom Hartley's selling the exact same car on his website. A little strange.
I don't see anything great about it...I could have taken out a loan and bought one in America, brought it back here and sold it on, paying off the loan and keeping a little extra for myself...
Can't see why Tom Hartley didn't do it themselves though, surely they'd make more money that way. Ok, they probably weren't allowed to seeing as they're dealers, but they must have moved pretty quickly. If you didn't have a buyer lined up already, I'm suprised you didn't hang around a little longer to get the best price...

You are missing the point mate, its not that he's sold it, its that he's bragged about 'his' car across the whole net and then sold it before even owning it a day.
Interesting discussion this. The chap concerned, a few threads a go tells us he's bought a LHD Ford GT from the states where they are freely available and very good value with the current exchange rates. He researches shipping costs etc, asking queries through this site..... Car arrives, he drives it and really enjoys it, at some stage he checks with one of the main "It-Car" dealers in the UK, what it is worth, then gets an offer significantly over what he paid for it. No doubt after one or two telephone calls to the US with Ford GT number two on route across the Atlantic to arrive within a month or so, he sells the first car to Tom Hartley. Various crap has been alledged on this site, but the fact remains that it was another PHer that mentioned the first car was for sale via a car dealer, not the owner pushing it or advertising it through this forum.
