I suspect (knowing a little about Maztec, hence having the number to hand) that you'll find that they create a different company for each concert so if you were to try and take action to recover the ticket costs it could be readily dissolved

Jeez, sounds like we got off lightly! Tuned into the news Sat afternoon, didn't realise how bad it had been on Firday and we were crapping ourselves as it was already 3PM! Anyway, quick change of clothes, collect some sandwiches en-route and hotshoe it through London and up the A1..... and NO TRAFFIC JAM! None at all! Straight into the venue. We were parked up and hotfooting it up to the beer tent within 1.5 hours of leaving our place (Docklands) at 4!
Bought a couple of beer tokens and headed into the venue about 6.30 - a little before Moby (who was excellent!). It was busy, but the problem was so many people sitting down and taking more space up. Never mind, we just stepped through the gaps and wedge ourselves about 3/4 of the way back and enjoyed the show. I even went to the bar, the loos and bought beer tokens in 30 mins - finding the missus was fun though!
Finally, we must have gotten lucky with parking too as we seemed close to the exit. Nobody told us what to do so come 12PM the crowds had died down and we were off - cue ensuing mass exodus as everyone followed Home by 1.30AM, time for a cool beer and off to bed. Like I say, sounds like we got off lightly.
Now I have to agree the (lack of) management was a disgrace and there were too many people in there for sure. WTF was the idea with the car parks at the end though? As I mentioned we just got sick of waiting and decided to go - we didn't see a single marshall or copper directing when / where people got out so what did they expect... anyway, could have been worse but given the income from the event they could surely have organised it better.

Too be honest I wouldnt even contemplate joining a crowd of 125000+.

The sheer size of all that humanity makes me quiver with fear.

Whilst it is obviously a bummer for you and those that missed it or had bad experiences, what exactly did you expect.

125000 jeez.

Went to see Robbie in a small venue in Germany about 5 years ago, probably 4/500 people tops.....And from what I saw on TV Saturday night it was pretty much the same show, glad I jumped on that particular bandwagon early!!!

We didn't even get to see Robbie. We got to the venue at about 4pm, we left Basingstoke at 12.30 on Saturday.

Carzee's / Fish family (shoal ?)

Sorry to hear about this, Mrs N17 TVR went on Friday, luckily got to the venue tres early, but said she was very scared when leaving the venue, the ONLY exit for 120,000 people was the width of a normal road, there were no stewards and to help the movement of people, the T-shirt trailers were positioned near the exit so that the queues then impeded everone trying to leave.

She won't be going to Knebworth again......

We went on Friday, took me 5 hours to get out of the carpark, not that I was jossling. The place simply shouldn't be licensed for gigs that big. And a 99 flake cost £2.50 FFS, and that was outside the "arena".

Went Friday - took train to Stevenage (from Kings Cross) - arrived about 1230.

Managed to discover "fast route" (slipped by lorry) after the concert -

Caught the 2350 train, enough time for a BK and even made the last tube back to Tower Hill.

Superb concert - REALLY felt for thos that didn't even get to the gig.

Buster - I was interested to see your photos. There was one huge difference between what your pictures show and what I saw when I was there. SPACE. Even though your pictures were quite close to the stage, there is still space for people. On Saturday, even by the food stalls, there was less space.

Anyway - glad you enjoyed it. Next time I hope I will too (but not at Knebworth)

People in close proximity to the food vans was only an issue towards the end... reading thru this thread I realise how lucky we were.

Although that has to be tempered with the fact you did have to travel on public transport, more than likely without a first class carriage

we got there on Friday at 11.30 before all the chaos, we were a quarter of the way back from the stage, and it was brilliant. we enjoyed it all, sorry you did not have as good an experience.

We were there on Friday mate, cant understand why we didnt notice you?

Louise and I set off at 1:30pm. Took 5 hours to drive 60 miles and then we abandoned the car and walked the last 6 miles! Got there with 5 minutes to go till Robbie came on!

Loved the concert and was glad I am tall so could still see it all. Mind you the 6 mile walk back to the car was a bugger

The whole thing was a shambles on the organisation front. The signs on the A1M said Jct 7 closed, so everyone bundled off at Jct 6. The signs should have said "closed EXCEPT for the concert"

oops, sorry about late posting but i have been moving house.

Went to see Robbie on Sunday.

The Journey there......
Left Crawley at 9.30am, got to Knebworth at 12.30. Walked in easily and smuggled cans and food in with us. Managed to get sat down 1/2 back near the beer tents.

The Support acts
The gigs were all good, Kelly Osbourne had a prob with the PA so no-one in the back half could hear her,...which was nice
The Darkness were supurb!! really great to watch
Ash were excellent too and Moby was brilliant!

Loo's, crowd and stuff
I then needed the loo!......1 hour there and back
I do understand why Mrs Fish and co were upset. The place was rammed. People were sitting on the gravel, there were no walkways and no-one could move.
Back to my little group armed with more beer, 45 mins later the best gig I have ever been to!

Robbie Williams
Robbie is a GOD! He was fantastic, the atmosphere was electric and when he introduced Mark Owen the crowd went wild!! I even had a little tear it was so emotional.
The boyfriend chucked me up on his shoulders and I managed to see Robbie on stage! We were right near a screen so we had a perfect view. Not sure about the video to "Me & my Monkey" a little freaky for me.
Robbie was very funny, loads of crowd interaction and he made everyone feel like he was talking to them.

Leaving the Venue
Yes it took us 4 hours to get out of the car park....but thats what we expected. So out came the sleeping bags and more food and drink.
However complete twats who didnt listen about "waiting" till the pedestrians hqad left buggered it up for most as they started their cars up and headed for the "road" so they would be out first. Unfortuntely for them another exit opened up in the Blue car park and they had blocked others in

Conclusion

Leave in time to get to the whole gig NOT just to see the main gig
Be prepared to be squashed, needing the loo, late getting home.

Knebworth is a great venue if you plan it right and know what to expect. Even people I know who went and couldnt see anything still enjoyed themselves because of the atmosphere.

Is Knebworth worth it? OH YES!
