Chilton, Magnusson, Hulkenberg all set for grid penalties for Gearbox changes. Maldonaldo has a grid penalty carried over from Suzuka - 5 places

Fancy asking Jordan if it was a good idea to hold the GP in Russia. Mind you, he answered without eulogising Ecclestone, so does this mean he's out?

While they're obviously at extreme ends of the grid from one another it is still astonishing how quickly Hamilton pulled away from the Caterham on a qually lap.

We've got a pop at Ericsson on here before, but he seems to have turned a corner recently.

The tyre degradation, or lack of it, makes it something of a lottery. Wht are they going to do in Q3 Send the cars out fueled for a non-stop run to the final flag? The cars will be racing on dreadfully worn tyres.

Difficult to read for pole.

Funny how this place looks so different with a bit of paint and some sunshine. Earlier in the year it made Chernobyl look like paradise, now this place reminds me of Vegas or Disney Land.

Am I the only one when hearing:
"Pastor Maldanado is out on track, so all you Lotus fans can..."

Automatically finds my mind completing it with - '...collect souvenirs of your favorite car' - rather than "...cheer him on" which the commentator continues with?

hehe

Derek. They start the race on the tyre they set fastest lap in Q2.

Nearly 1 sec to the guy in third! The Brawn had its double-decker diffuser, the RBR its flexi wings and "interesting" ride-height; what is it about this Merc that makes it so fast?
imho a little bit of everything.

If the previous RBRs had a good engine they'd of been way, way ahead.

Engine and ERS system power, packaging and aero. I don't think it's one element it's just the whole car working so well together.

He seems to suffer from trying to commentate on everything at all times.

I think Mercedes has an exceptional engine and a very good aero package. As already said, RBR seem to have an extremely good aero package (perhaps not as exceptional as last year) but a mediocre power plant.

I think RBR has possibly either been a little complacent, utterly focussed on the 2013 WDC or a touch unlucky.. Or maybe a bit of all three. Or I'm just not sure biggrin
