I think Jensen has a truckload of experience that a team and rookie drivers could benefit from. I think there is a role for him after his driving career is over working with junior drivers as a mentor or in a team doing a similar sort of job.
But unfortunately without a dominant car he's just a bit too slow. If you're looking for a driver who can drag the last few tenths of performance from a car then Jenson isn't your man, if he was that driver he could get away with a lot in terms of attitude, but he's not. It's interesting that he was fairly evenly matched with Hamilton during their time together at McLaren, and Hamilton is fairly evenly matched with Rosberg at Mercedes, and Ricciardo has at least matched Vettel this season, I'm not sure there's that much difference in driver ability up and down the grid, with the obvious exceptions of Alonso and Chilton (at opposite extremes of the spectrum).

I've a feeling Rosberg is in for a tough race and won't be on the podium.
I can see Red Bull on the second and third step.
There is the distinct possibility that Merc might be challenged this race. From what I understand, they have tyre problems on the SS. So we could get the situation of them pitting early and, perhaps, either running out of tyres or having to stop one more time. Further, with the primes being 2 seconds plus slower, cars that are lighter on their tyres might be able to run on SS while the Mercs are on prime.I can see Red Bull on the second and third step.
No offence to Merc/Hamilton/Rosberg, but I really hope so.
It would be nice to see LH trying to come back after a 3rd pitstop with a car that is only marginally faster than the opposition.
This could be a good one.

If Derek's right the optimum strategy for Merc would be for the #2 car to back up the pack. Can't see that happening though!
No but whoever smacks into a wall and gets a Safety Car might..... Which might also mean a bit of fuel saving at the start won't be too detrimental.fatboy69 said:

Oh you have to love Lauda for that!
What did he say? Mind just heard Toto being rather more honest than I was expecting about Nico's car too.
Will Nico even get off the line? Or retire quickly? Could bring the Championship back alive in a massive way.

Derek- remember the RBR's aren't that clever on full tanks and will need more fuel than the Mercs, or rather more fuel saving. They may not be competitive until the 2nd half of the race.
Yes, I accept your point. However, that'll make it exciting though, won't it? There will be the first few laps as the drivers sort themselves out, the flurry of pit stops, and then the run to the end with cars of different strategies. Hopefully at least.
I'm off out I'm afraid. Domestic demands. So won't be able to watch the race until later. Enjoy yourselves, guys.
