Plus 1 on the comment about Nico's grace in defeat, tbh, I would not be sure how it would have been if the roles had been reversed....
I think he would have behaved in a similar way, the relaxed demeanour over the weekend indicated to me he would accept the result that happened, although he obviously wanted very much to win. It is likely that Rosberg took it as he did partly because in the end the result was nothing he could have changed due to the ERS issue. A great season overall with good, exciting racing throughout the field.
Proved to all those dissenters that not only can he race (should never have been in question) but that he knows how to set-up his car. And they say Rosberg is the [only] intelligent one...yeah, whatever.
but i've been most impressed with just how well his has conducted himself in front of the camera this year. kudos to him for again mentioning Ross Brawn.

Am I the only one who thinks that Jackie Stewart talks utter st?

I mean, I should love the guy; champinship winner, old school racer... but every time I read a quote I just think "the fk is he on?!"

I'd like to think so but alas probably not. He's just pissed cos he hangs with williams these days and they didn't achieve what they looked to promise a few times this season.
As for the point about "greatness", he's kinda right, we're too quick to claim many as the next son of god wheras being considered one of the greats should be something done a little more retrospectively.

Stewart can be very favourable or very scathing about the same driver in the space of a fortnight.http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/30179256

A pity Damon Hill is contracted to Sky; I think he would give the BBC a much calmer, reasoned assessment.

I checked through the article to ensure they didn't have my thoughts when he jumped from McL.I'm not one to gloat, especially against a person whose blog I enjoy, but Joe, what were you thinking?

“Lewis Hamilton does not know much about racing history and so cannot learn from the mistakes of others. Perhaps he thinks that if it fails he will at least have the consolation of earning loads more money and being a bigger star, thanks to his hustling management that will sell his image here, there and everywhere. That might make him an international celebrity on a bigger scale than he is, but it will not make him a racing legend. Perhaps Mercedes will pull it off and then Hamilton will look clever, but I fear that this will be a move similar to James Hunt joining Wolf; Emerson Fittipaldi joining Fittipaldi, Jacques Villeneuve moving to BAR or Niki Lauda’s ill-fated move to Brabham. History relates that you do not leave a winning team in F1 unless it is to go to another proven winner…”

But what Joe like many fails to digest is that mclaren were on decline, they aren't a winning team, but we were all so swept up in their self satisfied PR to realise this. But lewis did and jumped the sinking ship. The sponsors obviously do. Really not sure ron does yet which is kind of an obstacle if they're to get back up there.I'm not one to gloat, especially against a person whose blog I enjoy, but Joe, what were you thinking?

I've been hearing on the news about a Knighthood for Lewis???
I'm a huge Lewis Hamilton fan, (IF true) that's just ridiculous... Derek Smith said:

TBH, he hasn't done anything worthy of a Knighthood imo.
So he could get it then, you reckon?Wait until he's won his 5th WDC, then it will be more appropriate. He should manage that within a few years.
It was a great drive on Sunday and a worthy champion.

"It was a wonderful result for the guy who deserved it," Moss told BBC Radio 5 live. "I'd put him above Schumacher. I mean Schumacher just happened to win a lot of titles, but he wasn't as quick."
As others have said without reliability issues this year would have been a cake walk. An excellent performance made Lewis a very worthy Champion. I only hope we have more than a two car series next year. With the financial problems faced by so many teams, we will be lucky to get any strength in depth.

Poor old Stirling , he sounds desperate to make an impact with a statement Sterling Moss said:
