McLaren livery looks a lot better here, like the West cars.
It looks like a Marussia!

They have a complex new power unit yes but surely they have tested it enough on a rig for it to work better in the car. I don't accept that a hose came off in a difficult position, ok the position may just be unlucky but surely they have guys who just sit there working on hoses and are experienced enough to know if a hose will hold out? Sensors not working? Why the fk not? Did no-one consider/check this? I'm sorry if I sound harsh but there are hundreds of people working on one car with state of the art facilities. This is not good enough.
Tell all the teams that last year who did the same! No idea why there is so much money in F1! It's so easy a bunch of toddlers would trash this lot. They could have just sent someone round to the local Halfords and picked up a silicon set there.

You can relax...I'm exaggerating for effect. No need to be so serious

The engines definitely have a better exhaust note this year. Merc sounded nice and smooth.

Vibration, electronic interference, airflow differences - they don't always show up on a rig, this is why it's called TESTING.

Otherwise, if they could sort it all out virtually with no need for testing, they wouldn't bloody go. Everyone would just turn up at race 1 with a perfect car and nothing would fail through the season, ever.

That does sound good. Very loud MGU-K there too.

This is weird and interesting.

I've read this a couple of times and can't tell if you are serious or not. For your sake, I'm hoping for the latter.

The Honda sounds surprisingly like the late 80's McLarens actually.

That's a normal development route for F1 engines with lubricant suppliers, they run the engines much hotter than road cars already.

That as well! And engineering in general at a fundamental level.

That's what I was thinking too. Still, the joy of the internet is that everyone can be an expert in everything regardless of their level of knowledge. Right, where's the bash the bankers thread gone...

So, Rosberg and Riccardo both commenting on the pace of the Ferrari. I'm not reading too much into it but these guys have been on the same track at the same time so it's interesting to hear these comments.

IIRC correctly Ferrari were quick in winter testing last year as well, the old saying goes Ferrari always win the closed season.

McLaren PR in full swing...
"We're waiting until it dries" says the tweet.

"Lots of work still going on at McLaren. Bodywork is still off the car so it's not coming out any time soon, it seems." Says Ben Anderson.

I wonder which is more accurate wink
