I’m sure he will be able to shoehorn in ‘the ol’ switcheroo’ into his speech…I pity the woman, I really do.

I loved his comment " I might learn something by watching from home!" Like no need to shout all the time!!!
In full:

“But I also want to sit and watch a race at home. I want to enjoy it. Maybe I can learn something by not commentating on a race. I can spot a few things when I’m watching – I want to see what the viewer sees.”

Seeing what the viewer sees (IE what actually happened!!) Would be a great start smile
crumbs, it's self-aware!
Maybe we can learn something if he's not commentating too biggrin

Quite possibly. Whether it was his idea to take a step back or theirs, it would always be presented as his choice.

On the other hand, no reason to not think it's his choice.

I strongly suspect he's a person who's immune to what other people think of him.

I really liked this bit

“I’ve given up and sacrificed a lot for my career. I want to give a bit of time back to my family and not be on the other side of the world. I’m getting married this year as well, so I’ve got a wedding to organise!

We have given up a lot listening to his blathering. But you have to pity his future wife, she will have 3-whole extra weekends of his mindless stuff
Church Vs registry office
My aunty Jess Vs your step-uncle Jim
Extra tier on cake Vs low cal option
?????.? Vs your friends
Polypin of beer Vs Champagne
Bernie Vs Ginger

Longest season ever coming up. Noticed Brundle missed more races last year than he usually does.

Crofty will be part of the old white man brigade that Sky has been clearing out over recent years also.

Bring back the excitable italian fella who used to do the F2 commentary wink

He does a fixed number of races every year (18?), so as the calendar increases he'll be missing even more of them in future.

I’d like to see Alex Brundle given a chance, along side his dad.
