Lewis learnt a large amount of his wheel to wheel racing during seasons in non-dominant cars. Think back to Monaco 2011 where he tried to bash wheels with just about everyone. And all those collisions with Massa. To the point that now, he's similarly aggressive, but without the damage.

Looks like Nico never went through that phase and so is learning this close racing whilst in the glare of a title battle.

It wouldn't do Nico any harm to through a few moves down the inside of Lewis in the last 3 races, maybe force Lewis off track. The problem is we hardly ever see him go to the inside, he defaults to the outside so often and hence Lewis just knows where to position the car.
You've not seen Lewis in GP2? Or perhaps need a reminder

I've just had a look at the circuit plan. I know that the awesome banked final corner had to go because of the lack of run off area, but I didn't realise they'd butchered some of the other corners too. It looks like the same kind of castration that the Red Bull Ring had suffered v its original layout.
I think they had built some large buildings on parts of the track in the last 20 years that made it a requirement to change.

More a case of lack of run-off etc..

Wow. I wonder if the neighbors complain about the noise over there like our lot do?

I like these new engines but headlines like this make F1 very hard to explain to casual viewers.

Is it really that hard?

They've used more engines than they are allowed. Therefore they get a penalty.

Indeed.

A 50 place penalty, on a 20 car grid hehe

(Yes, I know why. But on the face of it it still sounds ridiculous.)

Yes, I know the reasons.

It is nonsense to try to explain to a casual viewer. Just make it a pit lane start.

Yep, super disappointed when I first saw the track layout - I hope, however, like the new Hockenheim, that it promotes good racing and we are able to see the passion of the fans.

Just watching F1 Focus - some of the circuit looks super cool - the proximity of the grandstands is looks amazing. Hoping for a good one.

Apparently the run to turn 1 is the longest of the year at 990 meters.

Seems like a long way. Slipstream, cold brakes on lap 1...who's going to come flying up the inside from the back and fail to stop...

Similar to Sochi as turn 1 there is a little kink that gets ignored.

They cut off their water supply whilst building the circuit so i wouldn't have thought anyone would take any complaints seriously.

The Telegraph is reporting that Booth and Lowdon are leaving Manor F1. The team's future is in doubt.

Looks great watching these cars slide. I also like the track going through the grandstand.

Can't make my mind up about the track. Parts look good whilst other bits look decidedly Mickey Mouse

As ou say. Let's see how the race goes.

I can't make up my mind what Rosberg was on about. 'I've got three ideas'. What does that mean?

Nico's ideas:
1)Quit
2)Let Lewis past
3)Buy Lewis a skiing holiday...
