I don't think he would be wasted - I think he would be a breath of fresh air.
He would be able to bring fresh ideas into the sport, he would listen to what was & he would act in the best interest of F1 & NOT himself.
Added to that he gets on well with Todt & all of the team principals & drivers so how could he do any worse than the current bunch of idiots?
Only downside would be that he would be lost as the best presenter on any TV channel.

whilst he is undoubtedly the best commentator out there with very good understanding of what's what and who is who, that does not make him qualified to do Berni's job.
Berni is a deal maker, of the poker-playing kind, who can also add up in his head faster than just about anybody else and play politics that make our current residents of Westminster look like a kinder-garden.
you may not like him, but you cannot ignore the fact that he is F1 as we know it.
I am sure he would rather have retired by now, his problem is though, nobody else that has been looked at for the job come close to what is required and who Berni has not already seen straight though.
I have in the past worked with one or two people like this (in business), and they are pretty much irreplaceable, the usual problem is that if they are in-place for any real length of time, the whole companies operation/processes/attitudes tend to get moulded around their way of working, making change extremely difficult.
One of these guys was THE best commercial negotiator I have ever seen, it was plain scary the way he could plan his play ahead, then be able to not only adapt on the fly to what was being offered, but re-calculate the outcome, work out how to steer it, and put it across like the others wanted this all along, usually having taken their pants down in the process, all with a smile on his face and the others thinking they had done well out of it, his mental arithmetic was just scary.

How soo many openly hate Lewis Hamilton, particularly on this forum is beyond me. If other drove the way he drives, win or lose, f1 would be a far greater spectacle.
Imo, if we had a field with 6 Lewis Hamilton's, 6 Daniel Ricciardo's, 2 Alonso's, and 2 Jenson's would do me. F**k the rest (excuse my language)
Funny you say that as when i read this forum i think its is full of hamilton supporters.Imo, if we had a field with 6 Lewis Hamilton's, 6 Daniel Ricciardo's, 2 Alonso's, and 2 Jenson's would do me. F**k the rest (excuse my language)

over the years we have had more than a few that will knock LH for just being LH.
He is hard to ignore, especially at the moment.
On a lighter note.. Among the usual American celeb spotting, it was pretty cool to hear Matt Le Blanc talk about his Porsche obsession!
I'm sure I'd heard before that we was a Porsche guy, but he clearly knows his stuff, claiming he has a GT2RS, a 930, an '88 Carrera and has just bought a new Turbo S, then went on about why likes the cars so much

Brundle would be the ideal choice to take over from Bernie.
I largely agree. Although I was surprised by his comment yesterday (IIRC) that he would like to see 6 works teams, and have them each supply a customer B team.I can't be too damning of that without hearing more of the idea, but I fundamentally disagree with the idea of having manufacturers running teams. I believe a healthy future is with independent teams of constructors.

I thought it a little odd he that went on about his love of Porsche-a at quite such length when he was, I believe, there as a guest of Lotus.(I know that Lotus F1 have next to nothing to do with the car makers in Norfolk, but you see my point)

To be fair, if you look at it from NR's point of view, it is now down to the last race. He has to hope for a DNF from LH either in Brazil or, preferably for him, the double-pointer. Not a lot of point in pushing hard in a race where he was only likely to get a few extra points. If he'd spun off or had suffered damage from any impact dropping him down the field, he'd be in a position where the final race lottery might not have helped him.
As it is now, whatever happens in the next race, he's still in with a chance of a win.
It is all down to numbers.
However, it might be indicative of his mindset. No driver should be happy to take the easy route.
LH has the mental high ground but I think, from his comments, he knows that this race meant little as regards results. It must have been hard to take though for NR. LH eased past without problems. That must be in the forefront of his mind. He's got two races to go against a driver who seems to have the edge over him.

Not sure he should be the replacement but Brundle in an advisory role to the FIA would be worth doing. He's a pretty sharp businessman himself, he's managed a fair few driver so certainly knows how to put deals and negotiations together, and he's someone who has the sports interest at heart. You can tell he has a true passion about it and wants to see positive changes.

Pleased to see Lewis win in this way. However, I'm a little disappointed that Nico didn't come back at him at bit, true sign he knew he wouldn't win the fight.
This is the main thing that struck me from the race. Nico never made any attempt to even push Lewis once he was past, he seemed to just let him past and let him get on his way to another victory. Great driving from Lewis but it suggests that Nico doesn't have any fight in him, he's just hoping that the unreliability that Lewis had at the start of the season returns to gift Nico the Championship.
