F1 on Channel 4
Discussion
I think that C4 put a really good live F1 on the box.
Consider the cost to us TV watchers, and it is good value.
Steve Jones, has improved vastly, and David Coulthard and him seemtp get on well with lots of team managers, principles, etc on their grid walks, and after race commentary.
Keep it up C4. !!😀

Anyone watch the Coulthard meets Horner interview after the qualifying yesterday? I thought it was a good chat and Horner came over well in it. I didn't realise how much Coulthard was an influence in the team when he was driving for them in the early RB days.

I thought that was the whole idea of Coulthard going to RB in the first placeIn any recruitment decision always try and recruit someone from a company more developed than yours or doing something yours isnt and then always ask the question "what would x do" its common sense business leadership and why, lots of tech companies rely on gardening leave for a period when people move to prevent the very latest information going.
The only issue I have with C4 is the blooming app on my Roku player. It will allow me to stream an hour or so of a GP fine, then all of a sudden it states the video is no longer available. If you cancel and go back in to try again, it then runs approximately 1 minute of video and stops again.
It seems like the app remembers where the show was and if you try to restart or continue the program, it goes straight back to the point where it failed, and does the whole minute thing again.
It sometimes falls over after an advert too. On the next advert, it then goes back to the point where the original advert broke it.
Bloomin annoying. I haven't looked into a fix yet though.

the sky presenters look tired and dress badly compared to c4 crew
really like chanduk...sorry for spelling
They do seem to have a nicely balanced team up until we get to Jordan. The races without him are generally much more enjoyable for me and seemingly for the presenters. They seem brighter, but perhaps that's just me.really like chanduk...sorry for spelling

You're a fan of the white jeans then? I really enjoyed the programme Sunday, feels like they're having fun which then becomes enjoyable to watch. Mark Webber should be a permanent part of the team, too - likeable, knowledgeable and dry as anything.

it just looks like the sky team are all hung-over and don't like each other
brundle cringes at things that his team say

I wonder if the terms of Jenson Button's contract for next year would allow him to join the lineup? He comes across as having a good sense of humour.I really enjoyed the programme Sunday, feels like they're having fun which then becomes enjoyable to watch. The BBC F1 show was always far more relaxed and fun than the Sky F1 offering, when I had Sky F1 I always watched it on BBC when they showed the race as I just found the whole Sky affair far too polished and soul less.
I enjoy the C4 F1 show too, even with Steve Jones presenting, I no longer have Sky F1; far to expensive when I have no interest in any other sport and only watch half of the F1 races on it.

I liked the BBC coverage and dreaded Ch4 taking over. I've been pleasantly surprised by how well they've presented it all. The ads do get in the way - we missed the lights for the parade lap on Sunday - but other than Jordan, their team seems to cover every angle.I enjoy the C4 F1 show too, even with Steve Jones presenting, I no longer have Sky F1; far to expensive when I have no interest in any other sport and only watch half of the F1 races on it.
Good fun. Good information. Some insight.
Well done.

Webber is brilliant. His obvious hatred for stewards decisions that stop racing (like the Rosberg on Raikkonen decision) is out there in the open and its great.
I thought the same to be honest, he went for a gap after setting up the opportunity with his approach to the previous corner. It would be better if stewards were less involved in races. Webber and Coulthard are both very good I think.Gassing Station | Formula 1 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
