Yup. Not least for the "WTF?" look from the other teams, the toys thrown out of the pram , etc...

Not normally into these grand theories etc. but with Lewis still having his focus firmly on winning for the first time after he has won a championship and Bottas clearly unmotivated I wonder whether the team have sat down after Lewis's WC confirmation in Mexico and decided to go for Schumacher's win and WC records... just a thought as Lewis is only 18 wins away now and 2 WCs of course.
I think I read somewhere that Toto has or is going to pitch the idea of going for it all to whoever writes the cheques at Mercedes.

If they did it would be a hell of a boost for there brand.

So in some ways, just like Schumacher then.

I've missed that last 4 races I think...which are worth watching? Sounds like Brazil was a good one. But I missed COTA, Mexico, Brazil and Abu Dhabi.
That I didn't mind too much, but quite why he was on the trailer for the driver's parade, or why they kept cutting to him showing his general cocking around, was beyond me.

Got to admit, I didn’t like the fact they broadcast his radio message. He sounded very frightened (understandably), and it wasn’t a pleasant listen.

I’ve been caught in a race crash where the car caught fire (in a very small way) and it was possibly the most terrifying thing that has happened to me.
Glad someone else felt like that, it just didn’t feel right to me that it was broadcast whilst he was still upside down in the car, even though he was clearly not in danger.
I think there were flames st the back off the car, and no one had got to it yet. I thought at that point he was very much in danger. Was a very unpleasant incident.
Yes, I was surprised FOM allowed the radio feed to be broadcast, as it was unsettling to hear.

I was more unsettled by Vettel crying in Hockenheim. I think we all need to grow a pair of hairy cojones.

I enjoyed the ‘Will Smith goes to the’ Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

I did not understand why the C4 commentary team were so quick to absolve Hulkenberg of any responsibility for the incident- Like Verstappen and Ocon in Brazil, the car on the outside cannot just take the apex and expect the car on the inside to come to a dead stop in order to allow them to do so.

Verstappen did so well to get a podium considering the way his race started. The wheel banging move with Ocon was great.

I was completely bemused by the Leclerc early pitstop. It made no sense to me. If you are Sauber and you have one of your cars running in 5th between the two Red Bulls surely you just leave him there, at least any advantage with DRS is exhausted and the pit windows open up. The Ricciardo strategy was equally perplexing. To a lesser extent I thought Hamilton pitting at the same time would turn out to be a mistake but obviously I was proven wrong in this case.

A good showing from the various retirees. Chess move of the day- Vandoorne?

Very good race by Sainz.

Bottas disappointing. Personally I’ve seen enough to kind of want the unlikely Ocon Bottas swap for next season.

Like so many races this season the lead cars seem to concertina together towards the end but somehow it seems that the drivers simultaneously run out of tyre and fuel at this moment and it never quite kicks off.

Hamilton topless podium was odd. Don’t think that was correct.

The Will Smith japery immediately wore thin in Mexico. He was all over the Abu Dhabi grand prix even though he clearly doesn’t even know Valterri Bottas’ name. I hope this kind of thing is an end of season ‘fk it- why not?’ rather than a sign of things to come in the Liberty era.

Lol, Ted kravitz having a proper go at McLaren on the notebook. Anyone involved in designing that car should be ashamed of themselves!
He's not wrong to be fair.
true but the McLaren problems more fundamental than the noncompetitive chassis they've produced of late.

I mean, I can't believe the team honestly didn't know their problems went way beyond the Honda lump, so why did they persist in digging the hole of publically blaming it and then rejected it at a cost to themselves of 150M+ only to be shown up with a renault engine? They've made themselves look incredibly foolish.
I can only assume they decided early on to put effort into next year's car early on, judging by how they slipped back during the season... Otherwise they really are screwed even more than they are now.
Maybe they have realised their 2019 cars no good and have started on 2020 silly

In this instance... Abu Dhabi is paying Will Smith to do a ton of content promoting the place. Hence, a lot of Will Smith this F1 weekend.

Horner is such a prick, Wolff's face said it all!
+1. Rude and uncalled for. Toto's face was a picture!! Shows the lack of character of the man. Max fits in well there and I can see why Riciardo is leaving.
Given how RBR have performed for the last 4 years, how long do we expect Horner Spice to last - I don't think he'll manage a year, unless the Honda power-plant comes good very quickly! And given the experiences of others (like McLaren) that isn't looking likely!
I'm no F1 engineer, but I'm pretty sure that if the Red Bull had had a Mercedes engine in the back from 2014, Mercedes woul;d not be celebrating 5 titles on the trot.

that accident showing quote well the law if unintended consequences with regards to the halo. a knee-jerk fix for a very very rare possibility creates a situation that drivers cannot get out of an upside down car.
In modern F1, I suspect the likelihood of a car/debris to head is deemed more likely than an extraction from fire scenario.

Perhaps us armchair experts know more though?

It was for Ocon, he was racing the people around him. Max was holding him up.
For God's sake. The whole F1 paddock (except Toto). All the stewards. All commentators and pundits. They all state that whilst Max made an error of judgement, it was Ocon that caused the collision.

Ocon served the penalty right?
