different race, different circumstances. That was for position, last race wasnt
It was for Ocon, he was racing the people around him. Max was holding him up.Ocon served the penalty right?

Horner is such a prick, Wolff's face said it all!
+1. Rude and uncalled for. Toto's face was a picture!! Shows the lack of character of the man. Max fits in well there and I can see why Riciardo is leaving.sparta6 said:

Here's one for a curve ball. Bottas gets moved aside over winter and Ocon takes the drive.
Nah, Lewis is too happy with the current setup to pull that one.
Spot on.Nah, Lewis is too happy with the current setup to pull that one.
Lewis doesn't want another Rosberg

RBR have ignored Renault's specified cooling requirements and packaging for five years, and that engine is physically smaller than the Mercedes engine so if it caught fire and melted bodywork in 2014, and overheated in each subsequent year since despite their supplier telling them to change their approach why would a bigger engine suddenly not melt a RedBull? If RBR had a Merc engine the fires would have been bigger and by 2015 Horner would have made accusations that he's been supplied duff engines like he had to Renault and RBR would have been scratching around for an engine supply like they have for the last few seasons. If they changed their car to suit the PU, regardless of supplier then it wouldn't handle like it does.
If you've got Newey, what he says is gospel. Derek Smith said:

Or maybe Mercedes doesn't want another Rosberg. Hamilton doesn't look like he cares... he knows no one of the current crop of drivers can beat him with the same car without him having mechanical problems. Simple. Lewis doesn't want another Rosberg
Hasn't beaten his team mate
Has had a number of silly crashes - including with his team mate
He's got the charm out of the car but I haven't seen anything to indicate he's going to be any better than Bottas.

Not normally into these grand theories etc. but with Lewis still having his focus firmly on winning for the first time after he has won a championship and Bottas clearly unmotivated I wonder whether the team have sat down after Lewis's WC confirmation in Mexico and decided to go for Schumacher's win and WC records... just a thought as Lewis is only 18 wins away now and 2 WCs of course.
I think I read somewhere that Toto has or is going to pitch the idea of going for it all to whoever writes the cheques at Mercedes. If they did it would be a hell of a boost for there brand.
I thought Ferrari were an Italian company based in Italy with fresh pasta served to its Italian engineers at Maranello each lunch time ?

Rory Bryne (South African) designed the cars with the technical direction by Ross Brawn (British) with Nigel Stepney (British) as Chief Mechanic. I suspect that's what the poster is getting at.I thought Ferrari were an Italian company based in Italy with fresh pasta served to its Italian engineers at Maranello each lunch time ?

Post spygate a lot was made by the more provocative Italian press of the ferrari team not being quite that italian.

MS brought a small team of British talent across, but the majority were Italian and it's an Italian company.
By contrast Mercedes F1 is a wholly British company pretending to German.
They even play the German national anthem for the "Silver Arrows".
Merc F1 has as much lineage to the Silver Arrows as a digestive biscuit.

Yep, acquaintance of mine works for them... south African. Unless you are from a top British uni, it is very difficult to get a job at Maranello. sparta6 said:
