Renewal price hike is too much, and given the quality issues last year I told them what they could do. Looks like I won’t be watching F1 for the first time in decades.

No offers on NowTv so far and i'm not paying £33 per month for sky sports just to watch just the f1, we don't watch other sports.

I also don't want to have to faff around with a VPN and an app and then trying to get that onto the TV.

So I think i'll just be waiting until the Monday to watch the 5 minute youtube catch-up.

It’s no faff. I just use my phone :
1. Switch in vpn
2. Launch f1 app
3. Select the race
4. Cast to my tv

I’d say that’s less hassle than trying to, for example, find Apple TV on my firestick on the projector.

Also less hassle than trying to watch on Sky if you happen to miss the start and want to skip back, which you can't do unless you recorded it! I'm sticking with F1TV as it's by far the best platform to watch F1 on - using a VPN is not difficult or laborious, in fact it should be within the remit of anyone using the net these days.

Which VPN do you use, and in what country is F1TV set to stream from? Is it any cheaper going for a different country?

I use Nord VPN, Have a look on top cash back, I had 100% Top cash back when i signed up for a 2 year subscription so it was free.

When i connect to the VPN i use Netherlands,

All in, to watch F1 at home, my F1TV Renewal was £60 for the year, and the VPN worked out free. So not to shabby.

Hope this helps.

Just had a message from google saying my F1 TV subscription will renew in March at £71.99. I think £3 a race to watch it all isn't too bad.

I have the Nord vpn App and the F1TV app on my tv so it's very simple to watch.

Does the F1 TV app allow you to pay with a card registered in the UK but set your location elsewhere?

Not sure about paying it that way, the way i did it was through the app store on my phone, Downloaded F1TV app etc, created account, whilst connected to VPN, and paid for F1TV using app subscription, therefore didn't need to input address/card details etc. It comes out as an Itunes payment.

Ah. Does that work on Android and does it cast to a TV? Excuse my ignorance.

Try and cast iPlayer or such like - if that works then I’d expect f1 to also work

Now TV offer just appeared in my account, £26 a month for 6 months then £34.99
Need to add £6 per month for the HD feed.

Given I paid that per month for the whole season last year I'm passing!

this years deal just landed, 15% off the 100c$, so 85$, 5$ more than last year, but for the sake of a throwaway email address ( this is for new sign ups only), its worth it for me.

If you pay through Google pay or the apple equivalent it doesn't see the country your card comes from.

In New Zealand the deal is also 85 NZ$ for the year for new sign ups - normally 100 NZ$ too. Pity the European races are in the middle of the night.
