OK I concede that you are indeed just thick.

OK to repeat... Williams I believe will have a better package from Merc than say Force India due in part to the Bottas deal...
I have said in the past that yes Stroll Snr has given Williams a lot of funds not just cash for his kid to race but also paying for sims etc... I said that in first year of the Martini deal MARTINI paid £15 million to Williams and that Stroll snr paid £20 million for his kid to drive...so £20 mill in F1 is still a tidy sum...

We shall see come Oz but testing was good for Williams regardless of how pointless the times may seem and it means something...just ask McLaren and Alonso...

Also it wasn't all that long ago that Williams were getting poduims with the Merc engine.....

Also a few are now saying how fast Williams look.... i may just be right, add to that if RBR have engine issues Williams are a shoe in for 3 best team...
But really its a bit of fun to lighten up another dull Merc white wash by seeing how Williams fair in 2017....I'm sorry you chose to get so angry about it and vent your spittle flecked rants at me for daring to suggest Williams might be a dark horse for reasons I've outlined....

I think we're done here Tommunster - we're probably boring everyone.

Let's wait until Melbourne - if I am wrong I have no problem admitting it. I just don't think I am.

Back on topic, vettel has just reeled off a couple of 1:19.3s on the soft tyre. I'd be really interested to compare and contrast an on-board with Mercedes.

Could we see the pace setters at high 1:17s come Q3 in Spain?!

Another 1:19.3 on super-softs, whilst backing off on the main straight....ultimate time based on best sectors something like a 1:18.7

I don't think Mercedes will bother over testing, Q3 at Melbourne 1:17... and pole by a few tenths.

??? AFAIK all Merc engined teams have the same tech. It is a completely flat playing field.

The deal for Williams was either free or massively reduced cost.

Those are my understandings from the news that has been made public.

The Williams getting podiums had the right drivers in the right car - but as I'm sure you "remember" that car was fast on certain circuits but slow on other circuits. IIRC it was the ones with slow + fast corner mixes and longer straights. I'm sure there were a number of retirements in those races as well which "gifted" Williams a few of their podiums. Ever since they have been attempting to improve the medium paced corners together with the more interlinked corners as well, such as those found at Interlagos.

Putting a positive spin on it, they've almost got their engine through half-race distance!

2-3 seconds off the pace

Well yes i'm eager for the season to start for this alone if nothing else as its going to be a Merc white wash. I'm also interested in seeing Bottas suddenly overnight become one of the F1 elite.
He must just be just beeming about his life right now, he doesn't even have to worry about being unfavorably compared to Lewis like Nico was as he's brand new to the team and a tad younger and has no karting past with Lewis for the press to make into something.

Oh and if i'm way off with Williams performance then i'll hold my hands up and say i was wrong... but i still think Massa has it in him to do well...

I have been really optimistic about McLaren Honda after last season and the strides they took.

This is slowly turning into a bit of a shambles.

He said in a bid for understatement of the year

Update from Honda: "An electrical issue has stopped the car twice out on track. We don't yet know the cause, but the car is now back in the garage for further investigation."

I just don't understand why Honda are struggling. I got my 18" Izzy out this morning; started first time after winter, and pulled like a train all over my lawn. Clearly they know how to build engines.......

Perhaps they need to pick their markets better?

The lateness of the braking has just blown my mind. These cars look so different to drive from last year's.
That is pretty mad. If the braking gets much better they are going to have to change the gearboxes so they can block shift down as it was already going down through the gear as fast as a hand could flick the paddles.

fk me. That's on rails. The way in which he can pull the nose tighter mid corner with no loss of grip is bonkers.

Pre-selector gear boxes, like on a Routemaster. That's the answer!
