Now that Lewis has the crown again, it's down to a fight for second place. Who will it be, Vettel or Rosberg?

Depends on Rosberg IMO. He can easily finish ahead of Vettel if his car holds together, but he might decide that putting his elbows out when Hamilton tries to get past is more important for the remainder of the season and take himself out.

Surprised to find after voting that more people have voted for Vettel.

I can't work out if Lewis will help Rosberg, or if Rosberg is even worried about coming second. Is there prize money involved?

well the more points he has, the more his F1 Superlicence is going to cost him next year!

Not sure about prize money.

I expect it would be rather embarrassing for Rosberg to be third at the end of the year. The Merc is reckoned, by most, to be the best car on the grid.

Although one side of me thinks that Lewis will drive the message home and go for the win for the next three races, I still think he'll be a team player and try to ensure Nico gets second in the WDC, so I've voted Nico for second, Seb for third.

I voted Rosberg. I think, barring mechanical issues, he has to for his credibility's sake.

Any chanceI the fact Seb already took an engine penalty will affect things?

I think it depends on reliability and technical issues - Rosberg should finish second with that car advantage but who knows.

The media are kind of obligated to turn it into a big 'thing' as the battle for 2nd is the only real talking point left for the season.... but I'm not convinced Rosberg or Vettel really care that much, 2nd is just the first place loser after all.

When the season is reviewed both Hamilton and Vettel can walk away knowing they achieved the maximum possible result. Rosberg and Raikkonen on the other hand need to go away and reflect on mistakes, disappointing performances and quite frankly being destroyed by their team mate and made to be clear #2 drivers......... They need to up their game significantly next year and I say that as a fan of both drivers!

edit:
I kind of hope Vettel finishes second, I think he has certainly been a better driver than Rosberg this year.

As much as I despise Vettle, I think he will end up finishing second overall. Rosberg will simply be too broken to bounce back from Austin. Especially having a week between Austin & Mexico, had there been a 2 week gap maybe there would be enough time for him to get his thoughts in to some sort of order and be able to put a decent performance in.

I'm really expecting too see another incident in the next 3 races on a similar level to either Spa or Monico last year as a real throw all the toys out the pram retaliation.

Rosberg should do it, but I can see him tangling with Hamilton in one of the races as he tries to assert himself, with Vettel coming through to take the win. Mercedes have also had worse reliability this season than Ferrari, so that may also be a factor.

I think it's more likely that Rosberg will come second. He has the better car over all.

Rosberg should but I voted for Vettel - think he'll want it more.

This.

Now Rosberg doesn't need to try to match Hamilton, he has a fundamentally faster car than vettel, so without anything interfering he should finish ahead as the Merc is better and by a significant margin.

Is there actually anybody on the planet who reckon it's not the best car on the grid?

Since Malaysia, I have believed that HAM, ROS, VET would be the WDC outcome with Mercedes, Ferrari and Lotus being the WCC.

Despite Ferrari's seemingly late resurgence, I don't see that changing.

Hopefully, next year will be much closer.

Voted Vettel, as the one that I want to be second. Can't believe I'm saying it after how he came over at Red Bull, especially in the car, and of course, 'the finger'. But I like him since he's been in the red car, and I hope he does it. Yes Rosberg is in the faster car, and he really should come second, but I hope he gets his arse handed to him.

Ferrari will want Vettel to be second. I'm sure they'll do everything they can to make that happen. I don't think Hamilton will let Rosberg win to secure second.
