its a shame that money and sponsorship comes first above a talented driver

Vergne is very quick and no slower than Ricc. put Vergne erne in a top car and he would be well up there. very quick in the wet too and very versatile

to think that morons like Maldanado get a drive and verne does not is crazy.

lets hope talentless wallets like Pastor are not a thing of the future.

Future champion? 2015?

Has shown the kind of muscle that I think would go down well in Indycar.

I heard a rumor that he might be going to Williams as reserve with a view to replace Massa in 2016.

A shame that British GP2 and 3 winners are not being upgraded into F1...

CEPSA were getting cold feet and this brought them back to the table, incidentally or otherwise.

Could be a shrewd move on his part. Show decent pace this season at tests and if/when Kimi leaves at end of the year who knows.

If that doesn't work out at least he's spent some time gaining insider knowledge at a top team. Something other teams might be willing to pay for

Great, I bet he's really looking forward to sitting in a computer all year. How frustrating must it be to end up as a 3rd driver after being an 'actual' driver

It must be but it keeps him around F1, and hopefully he'll get to drive in other series too.

Still, he's better than a lot out there, especially when he puts his mind to it, he deserves a drive more than many on the current grid.
