Those of you who have attended the last two SS you might have noticed the latest addition to the PH stand.. our no expense spared 'boom box'!! Already though arguments are developing within the PH team about what music to play. One of the team even favouring country and western. .. he is no longer with us I can report.

Therefore, the only solution that I can see is to ask you the members for your recommendations, after all, they are run for you.

Digital Radio - Absolute 90's please.

However if it goes the same as on my building site:

Labour wants Heavy Rock FM (or whatever it's called)
I want Absolute 90s
Workmate wants Radio 2

So we compromise on Heart FM - which no one actually wants, but we can all live with.

The Key to Her Ferrari by Thomas Dolby, from his classic album, Aliens Ate My Buick :
"And then I saw her...
She was a bright red '64 GTO with fins and gills like some giant piranha fish, some obscene phallic symbol on wheels...
Little rivers of anticipation ran down my inseam as I kicked those five hundred italian horses into life and left reality behind me: fifty, sixty, seventy miles an hour...
My hand slipped inside the belt of my trousers as we passed eighty, ninety miles an hour...
And as we hit the magic 100... my love exploded all over her bright pink leather interior... "
wink

Or for another retro "Cars" tune: Hiding All The Stars by Chicane

Alternatively, for no car connection : Thing Called Love by Above & Beyond, Out The Blue by Sub Focus, Freefall by Metrik, or Watercolour by Pendulum - any or all of those would do nicely.

How about a theme tune for each event?

Sunday Service At JLR you could have The Who and Jaguar.

Everything they've seen you have seen,
Everywhere they've been you have been,
Everything they've done you have been and done already.

Every lovely spot near or far,
You can reach them too in your car,
Or you might be there now if you own a jag already.

The radio blasting, the girls are glancing,
The dash is dancing with gleaming dials

Grace space race.
Grace space race.
Jaguar, jaguar, jaguar, jaguar.

Plenty of songs mention Porsche for the experience center and of course for Mercedes Benz World there is Mercedes Benz by Janis Joplin.

Only songs that mention cars or driving ?

For example

Garry Neman - cars

Feeder - Buck Rogers (He's got a brand new car Looks like a Jaguar)

Prince - Little Red Corvette

new radicals - you get what you give (Every night We smash their Mercedes-Benz)

who cares?

I go for the cars and people not the background music!

If I had to choose 1 song then it would be god save the queen by an F1 engine...live!

I think a strict must contain a reference to a car to make it onto the playlist. Everyone has different musical tastes but we all have one thing in common and thats a love of cars.. so that should be what gets the song on the list imo.

Silence is golden?

I'm sure the PRS will be able to recommend some.

No music please. The cars are the only music needed and I'd quite like to be able to hold a conversation.

Is this what it's really become? How does this make it any different to a bunch of chavs playing their stty music at full volume in McDonalds car park?
