Go to tripleeight.co.uk, they build the car and sell it via Thurlby Motors (Main Vauxhall Dealer). You don't have to have one of the 88 they are building, you can supply your own car and send it to triple eight's vxr performance centre and they will modify it to the same spec.

My Astra VXR is going to them for a 280 bhp remap within the next month.

At the moment they are so new I think a used one is unlikely, unless you can persuade Thurlby to sell you a demo car.

Would it not be better to buy a used VXR and mod that, seeing as a modded diesel only just beat a standard one. (And in a test where both drivers made errors.)

if i had to get a astra vxr it would be new and to be perfectly honest i dont think it would look too out of place next to a db7 vantage that i am looking at

Sorry if I'm being slow, but you're talking about getting a modded used diesel Astra. My point is that if you're going to mod something why not mod the VXR, and as you're looking at a used diesel one, why not get a used VXR? Or have I missed something?

i WAS talking about getting a used 888 but then found out it could be a while before one is available used so then payed a visit to vauxhall.co.uk and am having a flick about that looking at a NEW VXR

i wouldnt be looking to mod the cars as if the 888 popped up then i would take it bbut if i went for a VXR standered it would stay standered

I can highly recommend the Astra VXR and am looking forward to the performance upgrade as it also eliminates some of the ferocious throttle response and the power delivery becomes a lot more linear and more akin to the Vectra VXR.

Pop over to www.vxronline.co.uk if you are interested in some of the modifications that people are making to their cars.

They are VXR Performance Centre wheels that are only available from www.vxrperformance.co.uk. They are a much lighter wheel than that fitted at the factory.

I though it was a team dynamic wheel.

You'll never fool anyone the 888 is a VXR as it smokes like Thomas The Tank Engine.

Your right about the 888 smoking, it was really quite bad when Fith Gear ran it around the track.
