For those of you who live in or around the Wapping area, I was thinking it was about time we sank a few in the Captain Kidd before Christmas. Too often have I seen Diablos, Tamoras and the like rumble past down the cobbled streets thinking i should organise a get together and never getting one sorted so...

..let me know if you are interested in a tipple and what dates you are available...

I used to amble down to the Prospect of Whitby on a Sunday when I lived in Poplar - is it near there?

I'd be up for meeting a few fellow PHers

I used to work for a construction company and always wanted a project in Wapping so I could refer to it as the Wapping Erection.

Is the Captain Kidd still a good bar?

Jason360... is spot on. Good atmosphere, abysmal grey dishwater purporting to be beer (like most of the pubs south of Burton...)

Yep - about 5 minutes walk from there towards Tower Bridge.

Well if the beer is sh1te at the Kidd, perhaps we can draw straws for someone to run up to the Prospect coz the beer in there is fine!

Shame tho since London Guide says it's a Sam Smiths pub - anyone remember Museum Ale?

Both, if I have anything to do with it!!! I rather thought that Wapping would be construed comically - especially by yourself sir!!

Oh dear, looks like I'm the only one who is rather partial to a pint of Sovereign then . Oh well, don't really mind where it is - I prefer the atmosphere in the CKidd, but if the ale ain't up to scratch then the Prospect will suit just as well.

I'm thinking that mid-week next week would be a goer. What dates can people do/not do?
