Could'nt retire at thirty, would get really bored!
nah, think of all the fun things you can do..
ANYTHING.
Or the most fun of all, be a Husband and Dad
And miss out on the joy of going to work and getting away from the little buggers for a few hours.. No thanks!
Helloo! Sorry, newbie here. Been lurking far too long and decided to jump in!
I'm a 20 year old Geog student - still in my first year and absolutely loving it! Anyway onto the cars...Currently sporting my divine 318i SE which I love. Not the car of my dreams...But through hard work I seem to have aquired it!
All through school, couldn't get a job through being in the middle of nowhere term time which resulted in few holiday jobs. Mostly working with horses for others and not paid. Something I enjoyed so didn't think about the after effects too much..So when it came to crunch time and 17th Birthday was desperate for a car. Mum and Dad have always been the type to make me work for money - ie it's there to be earnt. Everyone around me was getting these fantastic new cars - gutted me! Anyway, I had two choices - Sell the horse I'd bought as a foal for £500 for £8000 or get a small cheaper car. Parents bought me a Peugeot 106 (T reg) which I was v grateful for, I paid tax and insurance - fair way really as it teaches you to pay your way!
Anyway, through some very hard work on an event yard (horses again...So not well paid!)through my GAP year I raised £2000, with the money from another horse I'd bought cheap and brought on (DIY! Hard work...Not easy money!) during this time, I ended up with about £8000...Just so happened a friend was selling my car an 02 reg with 25k which upon part chopping my little pug in for left me with my very own pimp mobile.
I love it! Gives me instant cred as v few others have a beamer..After all, the trust fund must be saved for the DB9 Daddy's going to buy me
Cheers,
Mimi

Edit - Just seen your post, Geography eh? How can you afford a car, surely buying all those crayons must cost a fair wedge?
I'm doing Business Economics at Exeter btw, so feel free to have a pop right back at me, i'm sure your course is infinately more interesting than mine!

Colouring pencils are just the start of it. I don't think you appreciate the inflation on the colouring books...Gotta practise somehow!
Hard work being a slacker you know. I'm in no position to start questioning economists. My mathematical abilities stretch to GCSE only. I think it is there they shall stay! Never was my forté...Plus, economists know their money ways and being as I'm in need of being supported by the former - it's all good to me!
I AM going to settle well here! Doesn't take much to get the old testos. Flowing around here, does it? Begs the question are you frustrated middle aged or just pleased to see me!?

I'm also a 19yr old geog 2nd yr student at Manchester with a O1Y 318SE for which I have and I still am working for. If only I could implement some dodgy transfers of large funds at work without getting caught. I know someone at work (RBS) who bought an new MG at 18 took out a £20k loan (for car and £4k insurance)

I was aiming for Notts, although the AAB (or was it ABB?) was a little hard going for my hedonistic habits that I adopted in the worst possible year
AAB in the end, which I managed to sneak (AAAA!!! ) but its a great place. Looked at Exeter, but it is just too far from home to be practicle. However I am considering an exchange to Sydney for July 2005- December 2005 so perhaps thats not a good excuse!!
