Fancy owning a rare piece of motoring history....?

The Sheriffs Office, stars of the BBC1 TV show The Sheriffs are Coming, have seized a rare yellow MG X Power SV under a High Court writ which is due to be sold at Manheim Auction in Northampton on 10th October.

The car was previously sold by Bonham's earlier this year and their original listing, giving a fair amount of info can be seen here http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/20925/lot/344/

The car now has 13873 miles, comes with the keys and V5 and is expected to fetch £20k plus which could be a bargain for somebody.

Anybody interested should contact Manheim or register for their website.

Would you buy a car like this?

From that link it looks like it failed to sell?

I do wonder why bailiffs and some receivers chose such random places to try and sell very specialist cars - it's hardly bog-standard second hand car-dealer material!

Maybe it's the most local to where it was seized?

There was one of these parked up on our Le Mans campsite (Garage Vert) this year, but in a more subtle grey.

A neighbour has one, seems to use it regularly too.

Not for me but I like to see it when I walk by.

I think that can be a lot of people's opinion too. Nice to look at m an genuinely interested in them, but wouldn't own one.

The car is certainly a rarity and clearly collectible.

It will be interesting to see what it fetches at the no reserve auction.

Here is a pic of the car today...

I think in 20 or so years, once most of the original MGR products have gone and a lot of the hatred has gone these could be worth quite a lot of money, the Chinese now own the brand, potentially wealthy Chinese collectors may take to buying up the back catalog ? once they get past the sitting in the back of a car being driven round thing.

If I was close I would be horribly tempted to go along just in case it dose end up going for a pittance.

I'm sure they're great cars but.. I just can't get over it looking something like an Audi TT with a terrible body kit on it :|
