Five. In the late Eighties:
1984 Citroen 2CV taxed, MoT'd and insured
1978 Jaguar XJS V12 taxed, MoT'd and insured
1972 Range Rover V8 taxed, MoT'd and insured
1962 Austin 1100 taxed, MoT'd and insured
1960 Aston Martin DB4 in pieces. Lots of pieces.

I've only ever run two at a time, which is a shame but due to the combination of being a pauper and having limited space!
In 2011:
1996 Audi A4 2.6 SE
1997 Audi A4 2.8 SE (one of the very few without quattro)
Now, since early 2014:
1999 BMW E46 328i SE daily
1997 BMW E36 328i SE track car.
The next pair will be substantially different from each other, honest
Current two have a combined mileage of 331k, which seems fairly impressive for ordinary, privately-owned petrols.
In 2011:

Time for an E34 M5 estate.
