Interesting.
Possible rival to PH though :-(
"Former Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond are set to launch a new online venture, DriveTribe.
The content platform will be run separately to their as-yet-unnamed car programme on Amazon Prime, with the aim being to create an online community for car enthusiasts."

One mans competition is another mans fragmentation.
I like that PH is broad, simple and well used. Forums dies when people drift away. Half the value of Facebook is that everyone's on there.
But I'm supportive of the new venture in principal. Another nail in the coffin of the car magazine business though.

Amazon have deep pockets and starting with a team of 20 in addition to celebrity wages means they are putting resources into it. I expect a lot of product placement and buying opportunities to be mixed with the content which I would expect to be video heavy. Facebook is losing traction because of it's own popularity the youngsters prefer Snapchat and anywhere their parents don't friend request them. It's an evolving market, let's hope PH evolves too

Ouch for PH
Not really, PH is an old school forum and will sadly probably die with its members.Their biggest rival is www.carthrottle.com and jalopnik, they're the biggest pure community based sites.

Will it have avatars?
Will it have forum software from this century. Will it be designed to work on mobiles. I'm tired in living in 1999.DUMBO100 said:

This venture isn't connected with Amazon. It's their own venture set up from scratch.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
