First post here!

I've been doing lots of test driving as of late and originally narrowed my choice down to the Gallardo and the F430, but recently i've also driven the 997 Turbo and hmmm, kinda fell in love with it.

I currently drive an Evo IX FQ360 MR, which i was planning on keeping as the daily car and have either the F430 / Gallardo as the weekend baby, but after driving the 997 Turbo am thinking to move the Evo on and keep the 997 as my sole car!

Out of the 3 above the 997 by far is the most practical car and the quickest point-to-point car (by a long shot)! The best built car too! Wish i kinda never drove the 997 Turbo now frown , i had my heart set on the Gallardo, which by far is the better looker, especially with the top down, but its just not practical.

Also does anyone know when the 997 Turbo is due to be replaced?

Other cars test driven:

R8
997 GT3 (too hardcore for me)
New M3
RS4
F360

Am sure there are owners of these cars here, rather then myself goto their respective forums, so please discuss!

By the way - i'll be leasing the vehicle, to keep cash in the business, so any tips on leasing would be fantastic!

Cheers,

Porsche brings out a new model every 2 weeks. The "new" car is nearly identical to the car replaced in all tangible ways, however magazines such as Evo exagerate it as "moving the game on significantly", and hundreds of footballers and CEOs rush out to replace their old car in order to be able to brag that they have the revised car when they are in the bath with their team mates and collegues.

Go for the 911, and when you get bored go to DMS for an upgrade.

Will your budget get a GT2, or a used Ruf?

Sometimes its best to go with your heart rather than your head. Get the Gallardo in that ridiculously illuminous green smile

Prefer the 4WD of the 997 Turbo!

DMS do a package for the 997? I know they did a friends 535d, abotu a year ago, which was pretty rapid!

Go for97 turbo. Such a weapon mate. Its a great usuable everyday supercar.

If not then go for the F430. Miles better than the gallardo.

Not that I'm really qualified to comment on this sort of purchase, but I think in your situation I would be inclined to go with the Gallardo if you thinking of using the 997 as a daily driver. Not because I think the 997 would be problematic as a daily driver, but to keep that feeling of occasion when you get in the car. Even something as quick as these cars will surely lose some of their edge if you drive them every day (that is, their edge in subjective terms as you become used to the experience), which seems kind of a shame. It'd be nice to retain every last drop of that special feeling you get when opening the garage door to go for a blast.

Test drove the 335d along with the E92 M3 and RS4. Niether were a patch and usable as my current car (Evo IX FQ360), in-terms of performance!

Hmmm a possibility, but i was considering cashing in on the IX and just run the 1 car through the business. And the 997 seems the most practical out the 3!
