Love the "shed".

I've always wanted one since building a Tamiya 635 about 25 years ago!

I always keep an eye out for a suitable manual as well, as I have a plan.

The 635s aren't massively heavy compared to modern cars and E36 track cars are done to death now.

So, find a solid manual and a tatty/bumped E36 M3 EVO.

Put the two together and you end up with a 320bhp track car that isn't an EVO and could look like this!

That sounds like an awesome plan. How heavy are the 635s and do they actually handle?

Love the wheels on the car, they really suit it. I've seen one around with wheels that look too modern for the car, & it just doesn't look good.

As for best SOTW ever.....easily! Although calling this car a shed seems very unfair.

Not bad, and I assume if you were going to track it, you could shed (no pun intended) quite a lot of that weight too.

As said, around 1500kg, or within 50-100kg of the E36 M3 EVO.

With a usual track prep weight loss programme they can get down to 1100-1200kg and with the usual suspension mods, will handle as well as an E36.

Have a look on Youtube for the racing 635s.

They usually only had around 295bhp from the 12v engines, so with the EVO engine you would have more power than the original racers!

A couple of really nice German registered ones in Jaegermeister colours are often at the Nurburgring, and they are quick!

Hi!

Dad had a rare manual cabriolet one of these! He recently sold it though, despite my objections! Please see my previous bmw thread.

Remember how tastless the late 80's/early 90's were? If you have one of these beauties, please don't send it to Koenig.....they'll wreck it!
