If you're going be aware there are two sets of road works in huddersfield town centre. One is on the ring road with the junction for meltham , the other is 100 yards further down. Gets busy at the best of times. Give yourself abit more time if your using the satnav.

This is starting to sound like a plan.
I was going to go up to show my support. Can I tag along. (from uttoxeter).oilandwater said:
The Face Book page in support of this has disappeared I can only hope it is in case the young boy sees it. Its been on my mind all night, so very sad.
That and perhaps because it had attracted nearly 1,000 Attendees by about 11pm last night. I think they needed to quickly decide whether to pass the event on to an organiser who could secure a location and get the paperwork done, or to try and limit the amount of people coming.DanDC5 said:
More the merrier. Not done the drive all the way up to Huddersfield but the roads look pretty good.
They are great. The stretch between Glossop and Holmfirth is my favourite bit. Fantastic drive but you will often get stuck behind someone sticking at 30 because its a bit twisty.
The bit after the Resevoir is brilliant. The chicanes down into Holmfirth (and back out) are great too.
Shame I wont be able to make it (working...) as I would have loved to join the convoy.

I believe it was removed to try and keep some control of things.

This is my concern - it is spiralling out of control and has all the hallmarks of turning into a bit of a disaster and spoiling the day for the family. While the response is tremendous, I think people need to step back and think "is my car really that special" or "is there another 10 examples aready attending" and reconsider if they should go along. No one said it, but I would imagine there were thoughts of tons of Max Power cruise types turning up and spoiling things
