I'm guessing they don't have speed bumps going by the low front spoilers/snow ploughs they have.

God damn Bosozuku is awesome. Love to build something in that style myself one day.

The thing is, you can argue that stance etc is st all you want, but people only do it to add personality to drab, dull, st cars. Most of them don't drive fast, mainly because they can't, so handling isn't as much of an issue. But Some do handle amazingly well, and if you haven't driven one, then how can you judge. And half the threads on here come to the conclusion that the roads are st and infested with old people and tourists doing 40mph, so why not change performance into looks.

Face it, PH is just a wkpot for divorced middle aged men, past their time tongue out

Wow, generalise much?

Frankly I don't give a toss what you do to your dull drab cars to make them interesting, just stop experimenting on public roads.

Simply put, tyres are designed to work when on the ground, put one corner on the tarmac and no matter how many times you tell me they handle well, I'll not believe you nor would many other people.

Indeed. This extreme of camber is akin, in my view, to cutting springs to lower a car... I don't mind mods, just test them in a controlled environment first with good engineers.

I learned recently that (apparently) drifters use stretched tyres to reduce traction to help initiate a drift, so the copycat brigade think, "drifting is cool, so I'll be cool if I do the same as they do."
A certain amount of stretch cuts down on lateral shifting of the tyre under side load, and gives more consistent feedback and grip when the tyres is loaded suddenly sideways (especially during transitions). It's not done to reduce grip (not least because drifting competitions are actually set up to reward having more grip) but to increase control.

On the stretching thing, I never really understood why tyres weren't type approved for certain wheel sizes. They include the maximum weight of the vehicle in the approval but not the size of wheel that it's going to be fitted to? confused
Tyre manufacturers publish recomended wheel fitments for their tyres. Depending on the width, profile and manufacturer you can have a couple of inches of wheel width to play with before the manufacturer stops supporting your use of their tyre.

Utterly brilliant. Love it. I wouldn't want to own one, but I'm glad they exist. It's the automotive equivalent of punk Mohicans and full body tattoos.

Some people need to go back to their Barratt homes and jerk off to Audi S-line option catalogues for the imagine on offer.
hehe correct.

I'm not liking the stereotype that "stances are stupid durrrrrr" on this thread. Have you actually ever held conversation with anybody with a "stanced" car?

I might have been lucky, but they're generally very knowledgeable. And yes, they do realise the wheel bearings will need changing more often rolleyes (btw, they don't really care)

A slight bit of stretch isn't just a drift only thing either, you'll find it on many race cars. An isosceles trapezium is a stiffer shape than a rectangle.
Please don't link drifting and race cars or the sky will fall in biggrin

I'll just regurgitate a common arguement used here on PH.
