Weekend toy Viper every time, weekly runabout porker.

Which is more at risk of serious bork though ? My guess would be that fancy German engineering....

Buy now run for 5 years cost per mile for 30K miles including depreciation I'd bet on the Viper too...

However, we are not talking about the ACR here are we. The comparison was between a S/H Gen1 Viper and the current Cayman. And that is swung very much in favour of the german corner.........
You've proved yet again you do not know what you are talking about. This thread is not talking about a gen 1 viper but a gen 2.
Why would it swing in favour of a dull boring slow soulless German car?
Blah blah blah

Not wanting to get bogged down in semantics (again) but i was using "gen" to mean the major re-chassis/re-engine events in the vipers history. The RT/SR platform being the first, the ZB (SRT-10) being the second.

So what connections do you have to vipers? I engineered the Car for GM, what did you do?
You engineered the Dodge Viper for General Motors? Really?

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahaha

Never knew GM engineered the Viper just off to wind up me Viper mates. Hahahahah

Oh and to answer your question. I know what I do about Vipers because I've taken the time to look over them, drive against them, hang out with their owners and learn something about them rather than sitting in front of a computer day in day out typing stereotypical TopGear responses.

PH - where bullst gets more and more hilarious everyday. Hahahaha

So many miss informed facts ........

Chrysler viper compared to Dodge Viper ...

And for the record the silver GTS in the advert sold today for asking price ...
As for not many in the USA so must be something wrong with them, do you even know how many a year they build ...

Some people should stick to push bikes ......

Well in the real world on the bumpy streets of surrey there isn't much between the ACR and the GTS when it comes to whopping the ass of pork and it was the GTS i was driving when Mr pork had a wake up call on how slow his car was, and yes he was trying and did acknowledge the fact after the event and no it wasn't a case of getting the jump on him as he was already on the gas and gaining when i hit it and puled away. Had i been in the ACR it wouldn't have even been close.

PS I know the porkers all look alike, but no it wasn't the slow hairdresser one either.

New owner will be gutted if he finds out he could have had a better one that's done half the mileage for at least 5 grand less. C'est la vie.

Loving those blue viper stripes on silver. All those rumours of journalists spinning while giving it the beans in a straight line - seriously who wouldn't! Petrolhead heaven

It's possible (on a run) is what I and most people with actual experience of these cars've said. I've done it with a supercharged V8 Mustang, and with the Viper. Whether I'd do it all the time is completely another matter.
Sorry maybe I came across like I don't believe you, I do! Personally I've never seen anything more than 18mpg, but it's bloody hot here, and I generally don't hang around on the long straight roads. That or I'm in traffic.

My point really was that for whatever reason 30mpg appears to be a V8 milestone that is always achievable on a run, rather than any other figure. Incredible when you think my other car, a 1.8 MX5, can barely achieve 30 mpg with a third of the power and engine size!
