Your not wrong about the 2.7 - it was woefully inadequate - the 3.0SDV6, now the most popular choice, is however a different kettle of fish
Yes that's better, but we are still talking about a car with less than 100hp/tonne and aero like a barn door, an autobahn stormer it is not.

But I guess they can still get in the way!

It would look much better in BRG or something equally less Cheshire. Quick and very sloppy Photoshop:

That looks worse IMO.

I just now mourn the loss of the last proper 'bloke's 4x4'.

First they namby-pamby the Defender's drivetrain with a blu-tak-based Ford Puma engine and gearbox - and now this.

I thought the RR sport and RR full stop were proper bloke's cars - as certainly were the older Discoverys - you know, the sort of thing you have as the owner of a paintballing operation.

But the whole Evoque and X6 design phenomenon is a bit like with modern Black & Decker drills - as though designed by 6-year olds.

The magic of the Defender was precisely that it wasn't 'trying' at all.

I understand - they will as you say sell like anything - but I mourn the end of a motoring era. Landrover were the last holders of that bloke's car torch.
I like this car - but I do know what you mean. As far as I am reading things, there will be two model strands to LR products. The luxury bling Range Rover brand, with 3 models, then three more workman like - potentially blokeish - models which will be the new Defender, the replacement Freelander and Discovery - probably under a new model "Brand" the same way Range Rover does it.

I like to think my 2013 Freelander - which is loaded with toys, LED DRLs etc is still a capable 4x4. One reason I bought it was that it isn't flash. You can park it up with few people noticing, it looks at home in the city car park it spends most days in as it does covered in ste in the country lanes of Galloway on weekends.

Land Rover need to keep this in mind. There is a place - and a market - for both.

Forget Blue Steel, he clearly sets the trends and has got the "I'm-a-little-teapot-short-and-stout" pose down to a tee. If only Lamborghini had given him a call...

Could have done more with the facelifts, the Sport and the new Vogue, just have new lights the shape is the same,The evogue is the only new model Land rover have brought out since 2002,everything else is a facelift.
Last new model besides Evogue was when the New Range Rover came out in 2002.should have made rear roof on sport more curved. Any Pictures of new interior of the sport, the old dash looked cheap

Yup! You would think he would have his company logo on his T-Shirt though!

I'm also not liking the looks of the new one. The bloke's 4x4 is now the Jeep, even though they look to be going fashionable too.

This smells of deliberate leak. Giving a whole car to someone to tint is lunacy. Not only can they do this, but they need to get inside too. The risk is massive, and I doubt anyone would do it deliberately.

One of the problems with getting windows tinted is that to do it properly you have to take the interior to bits. So, if all they wanted was windows tinted they just have given someone the glass, to avoid the interior getting destroyed, and then refit everything themselves.

Even if they just told him to put film on the outside (or something daft) then they'd have had the car camo'd if they didn't want pics of it leaked.

Or had him go to them.

Or done it themselves.

Ridiculous that anyone could imagine this was a deliberate leak.

You'll be seeing lots more of this car in your rear view mirror, lights ablaze, 4 inches from your back bumper.

Although you can see the Evoque and new RR in that, it doesn't have the presence of the original Sport, and looks a bit too curvy.

Either way, doesn't matter, they will sell loads!

I dont think it looks too bad,

However,

Id imagine whoever got him to do the windows at LR will get quite a telling off, im surprised they let it out of their sight?

Either ways, the guy who is in the pictures can only do well out of this, id imagine the PR generated for him will be awesome, albeit having coming about in a unfortunate way!

My thinking is - its unlikely had an NDA been signed you would post pictures online, so did he have to sign anything? doubt it.

OR>>>>>>!

this could all be a bit of a PR stunt from LR, these pictures went viral quicker than any launch photos would have done,

greater exposure, bit of a story behind it - no such thing as bad press and all that!

I like the front and side view, but the back just looks a mess. That terrible cheap plastic faux diffuser/undertray thingy might be acceptable on a Panda 100, but just looks plain wrong on a luxury car.

I read somewhere that it is no longer Disco based, so I expect its on road manners will be significantly better than the old one, critical in its sector.

I'd definately take one over an equivalent ML or X5.
