If you're buying on a PCP and intend to hand it back or p/x at 3yrs then it doesn't matter - diesel auto suits SUVs.

Missus has a diesel Tiguan DSG which I bought new 6 mths ago as the residuals (even looking at WBAC pricing) looked amazing but they've taken a big hit now and Goodness knows where they'll be in a couple of years time.

Discovery Sport is interesting as the 7 seat capability would be useful now and again but no way am I going to risk £40Kish on a diesel engine one.
Don't get me wrong, it's not horrible in any way. I imagine the Ingenium diesel I have is a better engine than whatever legacy Ford engine hey use.

My Mazda CX-7 which is still in the family had approaching 260 BHP from a petrol. I just want something approaching that.

I guess a petrol DS would have pretty poor residuals though.

Odd. The Republic of Ireland is more keen on diesel and less keen on petrol than the UK in my experience.

Thankfully I can order a DS with a petrol engine here, although it's a shame it costs a lot more than a diesel as only the full power 240bhp version is available.

I suspect JLR are waiting for the Ingenium petrols to come on stream before launching a non-diesel version.

Which I hope will be by the time I come to change my DS.

I only looked at the F-Pace on the conguratoe and it didn't do much for me.

All too often I keep hearing how Audi interiors are the business. Just not true based on my experience. I found the A5 S Line ordinary in my search for a junior/exec car. Much preferred the 3/4 series interior especially the steering wheel, layout and feel. The Audi Interior was perfectly good but "in another league" is spouted so often on here and it's just not true by any stretch.
+1

I agree, I really don't get this Audi interior 'superiority' thing....yes, they appear well screwed together, but, design wise they are far from great IMHO, and they are largely devoid of choice if you don't want black, or aren't prepared to pay a fortune for Audi Exclusive.

I've just ordered an MY17 one for SWMBO - Dynamic Lux with Black pack - must admit it does look the bloody business. We were given one as a loan car when my RRS was in for service and she fell in love with it and I was pretty impressed too, The new engine feels powerful and refined and the car has pretty much every toy you can imagine! With the residuals so strong and a nice free 5 year service pack from the dealer - what is there not to like!? The new navigation system is superb had a play with it in the evoque convertible they had in the showroom - completely brings the tech up to date. Shame I'll till have to live with the older system in my RRS unless I upgrade that to the new car too but with googlemaps being used most of the time I won't bother with that upgrade smile
