Any Full Fat Range Rover.

Genuinely the best do anything car.

I have had a lot of cars that could make this list & nothing I have experienced touches the Range Rover as an all round package.

I do however want a sports car for fun as it isn’t exactly the best car for a B-Road blast!

One with 4 (definitely not 5) seats. Although I'd usually be in the driver's seat, I have been on a long journey sitting in the rear and found it very comfortable - so much so, I fell asleep. I'm 6 feet tall.

450SEL 6.9

LSD, dry sumped, hydropneumatic suspension, 70's Merc luxury - quicker than a Ferrari 308 and twice the price of a standard 450. It was absolutely off the charts when it first came out

this, and its sucessors. the 560SEL and w140 s600 being personal favourites.

e39 m5 was my first thought, but then you could say any m3 also counts.

lots of love for the alpine b12 as well.

Surely it has to be something that democratised transport for the masses, e.g Model T, 2CV, Beetle, etc.

These were my shouts earlier, alongside Renault 4 and 5 and original Panda

Gair point, but the original is the genre OG. Yes there were other similar types of car across the pond, but the original range rover was simple, utilitarian and luxurious. A genuine automotive anomaly loved by....everyone?

They were all cheap plodders, not exactly great in any way!

The Tesla Model S is an incredible car in 2024, but even more so back in 2013 when it was launched. I know this will cause upset on here, but I believe it will be looked back on as a very significant car in automotive history.
...
Without a doubt. I absolutely detest cars with a great powertrain and a crap chassis, so basically every American car, every pickup and almost every SUV but king of that pile has to be the Model S. No doubt it is probably the most important car in many of our lifetimes though and can fairly sit amongst the most significant cars ever like the Beetle, Mini, Golf GTI, Range Rover, Audi Quattro, Espace etc...

I see what you mean. thumbup

They were all significant cars, but I wouldn't want to own or drive any of them. So I don't see them as great, but if others do that's fine by me!
