V8, thank you for these posts. Been said plenty already but another one wont hurt!!

Do they do big BMW sales at Blackbushe? Where is the best auction house for BMW sales?

I went to Blackbushe on the 2nd Jan and they didnt have a great deal through that day. My brother is on the look out for a diesel 3 series circa £10K. I assume that the BMW specific sales will have plenty of these.

Any ideas??

Thanks again.

:Yikes: OK - Pretty much everything was above Book I guess (I paid over £17k!) The best value one I saw sold for £16k with 30k miles.

It's a 'guide'.

As with anything in life, if you like the car and feel that you got good value, then you've made a great purchase thumbup

Look in three different 'guides' you'll get three different - often wildly - values.

I love these threads.

I've been thinking about going to a few auctions myself (I'm not far from Blackbushe) but I can't really justify a day off work and there don't seem to be any in the evening judging by the website..... frown

V8, thanks very much for the details on the 350's. That's a great help.

To answer someone elses question about the body kit and wheels on the red 350, they're aftermarket jobbies.

Hi Peter, Normally those are the 'lifeblood' at most major Auctions! Last Friday's one was quiet (Manheim didn't do any over Christmas/New Year Period. Blackbushe is back up to speed now, I think there are nearly a 1000 going through this Friday, so should be quite a few Beemers that would suit your brother. By the way, there are at least 7 similar diesel 3 series going through at Colchester tomorrow, courtesy of Lombard (and maybe others from Arval etc. - Sorry, I only printed the Lombard list!).

Do you think they may have been fitted by a main dealer though, or do Nissan not offer them?

Just wonderng, as it was Nissan who entered the car into the sale so, if it wasn't an internal car it must have been financed by them. Are you allowed to glue a load of extra 'bits' onto a leased car?

Those two items are just an optional extra, It's a Nismo aero kit with 19" Nismo alloys

Thanks. I thought that they had to be Nissan parts; I can imagine a dealer freaking out when you return your PCP'd car and it's covered in BarryBoy plc plastic hehe

I'm pretty sure they're not Nissan bits. It's a Nismo kit and wheels, and dont think there's a tie up in the UK between them. They might use them in Japan, but Im 90% sure you cant get them as an option in blighty. The Rays alloys (on the blue coupe) were an option on the early GT cars, then I think became standard on GT's. The others are either the limited GT4 style, or the 6 spoke thing.

Perhaps Nissan took it as a part ex, then couldnt shift it.

It was sold by Nissan UK; not a Nissan dealer.

It's an option, along with the Nismo wheels. Dealer fit. £2k worth.

So the first owner spent 4 grand on 'bits' which equated to absolutely zilch in the resale value.

Oops.

Was a pretty car though, especially if you like the 'Fast and Furious' look.
