I know I'm repeating myself here but its a pointless exercise comparing it to an M3 when its DIRECT rival is 13k cheaper and just as fast.
That kind of is the point of comparing it to the M3 - the FQ400 is a fantastically over-priced car that falls far short of what it should be able to do for the money they're asking.

Amusingly, it's designed for the kind of people who have been so vehemently defending it on this thread: Mitsi fanboys. Well, Mitsi fanboys with deep, stupid pockets.

If it were designed for the "Mitsi fanboys" in this thread, it would be 500 bhp and £15K cheaper; we've already been driving 400 bhp Evos for several years. Don't let that tarnish of the chip on your shoulder though.

What are the running costs going to be like compared to the Mitsubishi though?

In all likelihood, there will be no comparison. The FQ-400 comes with an all inclusive 5 year service plan (transferable and including breakdown cover) for £1,100.

It's still not worth £50K though.

Well... if your worried about service/running costs etc you sure as hell don't wanna throw 50k on a motor. I think you'll agree you'll want to enjoy driving the flipping thing. This brings us squarly back to:
