Only a broken wrist.
Did you notice the woman on the crossing was looking to her right, whereas I always look down the side of vehicles, not saying the cyclist isn't at fault, tt, but I have drummed it into my family that green doesn't mean go, and just because one car stops doesn't mean others will.

No chance, but I hope the cyclist was reported.

Absolutely, you should always look whether pedestrian, driver, cyclist.

There are Idiots in every mode of transport. There always has been and there always will be.

Red Neck trucker, says NO to this blonde trying to merge..

vw's are tough
There are a few videos like this bouncing around. I never understood why people continue to press a move like that once the door has been shut - it only ever ends one way.
That's the same as a few other threads. The truck driver can see what's likely to happen and fails to adjust speed. You don't plough on regardless if you can see someone's made a mistake, and if you do a collision is going to happen. As been posted before two wrongs dont make a right.
You don't often get a video of someone practicing avoidance so nothing happens
but the van driver avoiding the car coming up a slip road, both thinking they have the same space, a page or so back was one
Ok, she was stupid for trying to force her way in like that. However the Truck Driver's actions look deliberate, at first he instinctively swerves left onto the hard shoulder, indicating he did see the VW, then swerves right again in a what looks like a deliberate action to trap the VW between himself and the other Truck. The other Truck clearly saw what was happening and made room, otherwise it would have been much worse.

Not my video and apologies if this has been done before - very dangerous overtake by tipper truck.
Should not hold a licence.
He may not have a licence in due course. He is being prosecuted, according to The Argus (Brighton).

They're very basic rules that pedestrians have priority at zebra crossings and that drivers should treat them like a normal give way. However it seems that driving across a zebra without being able to see that it is clear is perfectly acceptable.
I just know that drivers behave differently at normal give ways because they're much less bothered about colliding with pedestrians than they are with cars.

It's a useful road safety video

I think I'd have stopped - any other votes?
I agree, it's a really bloody good one and it reminds me of those clips where they fire out cardboard cut outs on busy high streets.

I am in partial agreement with heebeeGT. You should not drive across the zebra crossing unless you know it's clear. A similar scenario happens almost daily, doesn't it? A traffic jam going the opposite way to you and you approach a zebra crossing...cars parked just in front and just behind it. Do you plough through at 20/30 mph? Nope...you slow right down and almost put your forehead on the windscreen to make sure no one is attempting to pass.

But where I disagree with heebeeGT, is that it will always be his fault if this occurs. I bet I could get knocked down by heebeeGT on a zebra crossing...and if he still deemed it his fault then more fool him.

Say you've got a road with parked cars either side for as far as the eye can see, on a 30 mph road. Do you crawl along checking the gaps between each car? We've already established 'kids will be kids' and what's to say a 10 year old wouldn't have their headphones in listening to 50 pence and not think twice about running out between two parked cars? Is the fact it hasn't occurred on a zebra crossing make this OK?

I think if I was judge, I'd tell the driver off and perhaps make sure their eye sight was tested, but I'd make bloody sure the parents of the child got an absolute bking for enabling their child to get to that age and think that's an appropriate way to cross the road.

...in my opinion, if my daughter got knocked down on a zebra crossing like that I'd blame myself for being a st parent.

There are also rules for pedestrians using crossings.

These "zebra" videos on the last couple of pages demonstrate one reason I can't use zebras as a pedestrian, in fact I'll go out of my way to avoid them.

I get strange looks from my friends and colleagues....

Whilst the golf was seriously out of order, the camera car doggedly defending his "its my right of way" really needs to shake his head and back off when faced with a muppet.
This. The camera driver saw the impending risk and chose to ignore it. Should of left the muppet to go through.
With a brake test thrown in for good luck. Very predictable these types of drivers.
Yep, take a breath and let twunty bks in front. Far better to have him in front where you can see him than behind you.
This is a similar one on a road in Colne not far from where I live. The woman with the camera is in convoy with the driver of the orange TT when someone comes up on the outside in an Insignia.

The issue with people using the right hand lane to "queue jump" and go straight on has become so heated the police have been stationing officers at this junction at every morning rush hour and apparently it is going to be altered to stop this happening. The Google Earth image is here so you can see the road layout. The drivers are going from the M65 junction to where the BMW garage is.

Loads of places in London where similar happens. Putney Bridge, the entrance to the Rotherhithe Tunnel, several on the A1 towards Borehamwood. I just let them get on with it, and enjoy my lower blood pressure. The TT driver was an idiot, should have just let the arrogant Insignia tosser have the space, the tiny victory simply isn't worth the hassle and higher insurance if the two cars end up smashing together. He may well need tracking redoing now depending how hard he bumped up the kerb, that's £40 wasted.

I live not too far away and this was shared on the local facebook pages, the company were tagged and they sacked him the very next morning and issued an apology.

Anyone else count 3?
The camera car was with the TT so rather than suggesting it drops back out of the argument, pours petrol on the fire with we've got it all on video and try harder.

Horrendous driving from the TT and the Insignia. As bad as people racing on the road. I would give both at least 6 points and a stonking great fine. Dashcam attitude as ever - cause an incident so you can whine about it.

Well, I thought the TT driver was a moron in this case. Speeding up to prevent the Insignia getting ahead. Stupid and careless, the Insignia driver was an idiot but the whole incident would have been a non event if the TT had just let them in.

And pricks would continue to believe that they could behave like pricks.

The police don't give a crap about this stuff, whilst I don't suggest being a prize plum like the TT was I'd be less sympathetic if the police actually did something about this rather than washing their hands of it, and just about anything else they can get away with.

Both idiots but then the Insignia could have been in the wrong lane by accident? Who knows? The TT driving up the kerb to block immediately makes him the bigger fecking numpty but then they both try to out do each other with the idiocy!

I'll go with the Insignia either made a mistake or was an idiot
The TT was only ever an idiot
The cam car ditto

However can anyone here say they've never been caught up in that type of situation?
