Tres chic, ideal for that miniaturised Sultan of Bradford look...

I love that as a fun car but over £40k is not fun anymore.
Maybe £15k but above that I'm struggling to see the appeal

I think for 40k I'd rather buy the G-Class it's trying to be.

£20k for a 14 year old Vectra based automatic Saab?

That is a nice Saab, I'd love to have one like that, but yes, that is well overpriced.
Hagsrom has always been up there with the figures.
Those are st, I’d have it for £1k

Agreed. GLs had the larger lamp. Ls also got it later with the inner units inoperative.

Part of the problem is Jimnys aren't as cheap as you (or I) think they are when new. Cheapest new shape on eBay is £20K with 23k on the clocks!

The bodykits appear to be between 2 and 5K

Though there are others already made for sale

Apologies for the thread drift but I couldn't find a "seriously mental advert" thread.

Bloke on AT selling his DB11. Opens his ad description with this:

And finishes with this suggesting that, far from selling his car he'd actually like to buy another identical one laugh

Price is non-negotiable. It must be £75,123. £75,000 wouldn't be enough.

A Saab specialist once said to me... if you're gonna buy a Vauxhall you might as well buy the actual Vauxhall.

Here's a 2010 model with a similar mileage and the same engine + 4WD for half the cost: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202311153...

Nope that's prime thread fodder.

They've devalued it. Could get a real one for that money.

Trying to sell a £75k Aston privately and with an attitude to boot must be fun.

I'm not saying there's anything good about it... but might be worth noting that they didn't ruin it by themselves... it's actually a real kit you can pay Brabus a lot of money for to get the privilege of ruining your own Jimny should this be your sort of thing.

At least the motor will be relatively unstressed at <30 bhp/litre. AMG need to upgrade their game.

Its not a genuine Brabus bodykit! laugh

I'm not sure it really needs to be an AMG, I suspect even the ordinary Gs (which start at 15k on Autotrader) would keep up with a Jimny.

I don't think you realise how awful and slow the Diesel G wagons are in reality laugh Just horrific things! If they'd never made the 55 variant, which spiked peoples interest in the old knacker. I reckon they'd have died out years ago as are simply bad cars!

You're absolutely right, I'd never really looked at them and the old ones do look dreadful. That said, for the same £40k you can get a G Class that's 3s quicker to 60, so I stand by my original somewhat flippant comment even if you do need to be a bit selective about your choice of G.

He reduced it to £69,999 but now it has disappeared from AT laugh

Sorry, I didn't research properly, just saw that you can buy the kit and there's loads of these Jimnys for sale which have had this done to them.

I think if you want to buy the kit it comes from here: https://streettracklife.com/collections/body-kits

I was wrong about it being a Brabus kit but it is commercially available and I guess after you've spent £5k on the kit you'd have to spaff a similar amount on top to have it fitted.

Now I like a P6 as much as the next man and this one looks nice but not £20k nice … it’s a 2200TC, not a 3500 V8 - even really good ones of those go for less than this one. I’d reduce it by £10k just for the black and silver plates … on an R reg, whatever next …
