Whilst I agree about not having bodykits.

Why would you try to find a UK car ? Imports haven't had to face salty winters and tend to be in far better condition.

I'd also wonder why you wouldn't want to fit a bigger exhaust for faster spooling and an Apexi ECU for an extra 100ish bhp.
I think UK cars had better rustproofing (ie some!) when new, JDMs didn;t, so a JDM which has been in the UK for some years without any aftermarket rustproofing may be starting to suffer. And just for clarification, I think if you fit a bigger exhaust, especially if you remove the Cat, you really need an Apexi to avoid running lean and lunching the tips.
I've heard the rustproofing thing about many JDM cars and IME it's complete BS.

I've owned 3 RX7s (340bhp turbo, project, V8) all imports all mint underneath
Fresh imports maybe mint, but his point was that an import that has been in the country for several years may have began to rot.

No idea about the rx but I have had an import that came with no rust proofing, so it's something to think about.
My imports have all been in 7+yrs all fine.

What import did you have without rust proofing as IME Mazdas all receive the same treatment - which is what you'd expect really.

I've seen a few of these cars with the wing removed at the back, including one locally that was wingless, until the owner plopped a massive Veilside turd on the boot. I suppose it's fine to do without if you're just pootling along, but I presume you wouldn't want to do without the downforce generated by that wing if you were pressing on?
Not all JDM RX7s came with a wing fitted as standard.

Not having one isn't instant high-speed death.

My evo 5 had no underseal or any rust proofing on the underside. Just painted.

While the paint may have been thicker, it did chip from stones.
