I could only manage the first 45 minutes. I feel violated and may have to call a rape councilor.

It is poor. I think Top Gear has gone a bit too far towards the "general entertainment" category but I PRAY they leave it as it is. Fifth Gear is miles, miles behind.

I must admit I came on to say how disappointing the show is and to be beaten to it by so many tells its own story!!! Last series they were trying to copy Top Gear a bit and I thought they were treading a fine line but it was watchable! This first show was a really really bad attempt to copy Top Gear and it just didnt work! I too like Soccer AM but for me it just didnt work, he didnt seem comfortable at all, not sure I will make the effort to watch again, very poor, dismal programme....!

The funny thing is, the Fifth Gear team read PH so Im sure they have the picture by now hehe

you aren't top gear, you never will be, and that is such a dismal effort to copy it, i do hope all involved are sacked, the last series was watchable, this first episode is the only one i will watch as i would rather spend time individually plucking the hairs from my bollox than watch this gash again. I only wish i could have the last hour from my life back.

I don't log on much these days but felt compelled to write tonight.

Can't say I'm surprised by this thread. What an absolute load of bollox. 6 minutes in and there's adverts, prior to that a bit of sideways stuff (original Tiff) of marginal interest. After the break I sat through another 30 odd minutes worth of crap.

Why do they think I'm in the slightest bit interested in the fact that Al Gore drives a prius?

Why do they think I want to watch a 200 year old Golf get crushed?

Why do they think I want to watch VBH drive around a go-kart track against some virgin with a radio cotrolled car? Why didn't she spank it down some B road and tell me what it's like, which in the unlikely event I'll ever test drive one myself is what I'll want to know.

Why do I want to watch a car drive around a track on it's own? And incidentally, the only reason that boring old bastard beat it is because he was on his own.

Plane versus car? Been done guys on a better show

Jesus f**king christ that's the last time I watch this pile of utter shite.

How do I make a complaint agains channel 5 for wasting 35 minutes of my life and has anyone got their e-mail address so I can submit the link to this thread and it's sister thread on Pie and Piston? They need to hear our views, we're their bread and butter audience and I haven't heard one poster say anything good about it yet.

Is it actually possible to hypnotise someone like that? I could never think that I could go to 'sleep' like that simply by somebody saying "sleep" to me.

What utter utter shite, I feel insulted that they're trying to pass it off as entertainment.

Off topic slightly, is it me or do donuts have less jam in than they used to?
(you can tell how much attention I was giving fifth gear )

Oh come on, Tiff & VBH are genuine petrol heads, we're led to believe Tom Ford is an enthusiast.
The program was dire, and it's admittedly a very poor imitation of Top Gear.

But no offence mate, I think you're out of order.
Just because they're producing a substandard copy of TG doesn't mean that them wishing the hamster a speedy recovery is not genuine.

after all, without another series of TG they'll have no material for Fifth Gear series 11!

You can really tell that the programme has sunk to a new low, as there has not been ONE person on here defending it and slagging us off.

Watched the first part showing the radio controlled car VS a mini. That was mildly amusing. I then laid a turd which provided more entertainment than 5th gear.

Edited to say

I think doughnuts don’t have enough filling too. I remember were it used to burst everywhere. What happened?

My lordy that was really really crap, like some kind of Waynnes World with a car reference found on some obscure cable channel at 3am.

Top Gear may have its light entertainment tag on & have long since stopped being a car show for spods, but they do have some excellent daft capers & my lord its 15 zillion percent better than that utter drivel which appears to be some kind of automotive flavored TV equivalent of Hello magazine for the terminally retarded.

Old program was so much better than that. New bloke needs binning, Bentley the dullest man in the UK needs drowning, & whole program needs a re-think or putting out of its misery.

I was hoping I wasn't the only one who thought it was particularly bad tonight.
It had production values that were lower than a Cobras testicles. for me, the crushing of a 20 year old golf was the low point. The worst thing I've seen in months - VBH (stop cackling you sill moo)and the other smiling goon were pathetic and Tom Ford looked like a tubby child molester at a disco.
Other than that, it was bloody good.

Well, Well, Well,

I only popped on here to start a thread on this matter!!!
I wonder how many others are still looking and finding all this agro.

I can only agree with "the rant"

VBH looks embarassed at the script and content.
I wouldn't be supprised if Plato saw the content and said up yours.
Someone will find out whats going on.

Seems to me that some graduate with spots and shades is running show with a degree in how to be a blithering idiot!
Sorry, thats being unkind to graduates all around the country, I withdraw that!!!!!!!!!!!!
